Mason smiles and pulls his shirt back on, leaving the bandaids on and leading Benny back to the daycare. Soon, a few children were dropped off. Mason instantly brightens up. “Suzy!” He bends down and hugs a small girl. He then sighs to her while speaking. “How have you been? I missed you!”
The little girl giggles, signing back and trying her best to speak. “I’m good! Mommy let me come play!” She looks at Benny and tilts her head, signing. Who’s that? Are they new?
Mason nods, “He sure is! His name is Benny!”
The girl smiles brightly and waves.

Mason chuckles, “They all do, kiddo!” He ruffles her hair. “Are your hearing aids on?”
She nods, “Yesh- ye-…” She takes a moment, “Yes!”
Mason smiles brightly. “Good job!”

Suzy walks over to Benny, looking up at him. “You’re a-as tool as Mason!”
Mason chuckles, “Tall.”
“Tall!” Suzy giggles.

he laughed the same static broken laugh he had earlier and stopped, fearing he scared her

Suzy smiles brightly, then reaches to be picked up.
Mason chuckles softly. “Use your words.”
Suzy pauses, “T-Can I…be picked up?”

he paused, looking down at her. he signed while saying "y-you w-w-want me to p-pick you u-up?"

She nods, yes please!

he picked her up, it was such an odd feeling, but he loved it "h-h-hello"

She smiles softly, “Hi!” She looks up at Benny’s ears and makes a squeaking noise.

Another small boy runs in and hugs Mason’s leg. “Maceyyyyyyyyy!!!!”
Mason laughs and picks him up. “Aye Tyler! My man!”

he continues moving his ears and wings to entertain her, he loved every minute of this, he loved not being alone anymore

Suzy was fully immersed in Bennys ears and wings. She’d giggle every now and then. Soon, she leans into him, smiling.
Mason smiles, “Looks like you two have already become friends.”

he nodded and held her close. after the pizzeria closed he felt a bit lonely again, and he missed suzy

Mason yawns, smiling sleepily. “Don’t worry. She’ll come back every day this week. Her moms working.”
