"Nice to meet you too," Saul greeted skeptically. Farah leaned down to kiss him again briefly before she stood and held a hand out to help Saul to his feet. Once they were both standing, Saul immediately wrapped an arm around her waist and studied Qûs'ÿltn. "So if I guessed you're another magical person, would I be right?" he asked.

By way of answer, Qûs'ÿltn summons a shit ton of lightning with a negligent flick of his wrist, enough electricity to stop the heart of a storm giant. "That answer your question?"

Saul snorted with amusement. "It sure does." He looked down at Farah. "Why are you out here making new friends without me, huh?" he teased, kissing her quickly.

Farah scoffed quietly. "I'm not." She cast a knowing look at Qûs'ÿltn. "I just happened to find him out here."

Qûs'ÿltn grins at Saul. "Not surprised in the least bit, are you?"

He turns and shakes his head at Farah. "Nope, switch that sequence. I found you."

"Nope, not at all," Saul replied at the same time Farah said, "I beg to differ!"

Qûs'ÿltn raises an eyebrow at Farah, completely ignoring Saul. "I distinctly remember me taunting you with rude gestures made out of rainwater. And nearly striking one of your faerie friends with lightning, plus pissing you off to the point where, well. . ."

He looks at Saul. "Make sure she doesn't lock up her magic for 16 years again and nearly detonate, alright? It would be bad for my health."

Saul chuckled at Qûs'ÿltn's recollection, but he quickly turned serious again after that, looking down at Farah worriedly. "What is he talking about?" he asked. "Farah?"

The fairy lowered her gaze. "Nothing," she mumbled.

Qûs'ÿltn snorts. "She won't tell you, so I will: you know when she disappeared after that horrible incident 16 years ago? Well, she's been refusing to use magic ever since on the assumption that as long as she used no magic, she'd do no harm to anyone except herself. I came along recently and made her realize how much of a dumbass she was being."

Saul frowned and looked from Qûs'ÿltn to Farah. "You cut yourself off from your magic?"

Farah sighed quietly. "It was because of Rosalind."

"Yes, she did," Qûs'ÿltn mutters. "And I nearly slapped her many times for being so stubborn."

Other than that, he's quiet.

"Farah, we talked about this– Is that why you left?" he demanded.

The fairy closed her eyes. "Saul…" she whispered.

Qûs'ÿltn recognizes the signs that Farah is about to lose it, and hastily steps forward. "Saul, drop it."

"Farah?" Saul asked again.

"Please, can we talk about this later?" Farah whispered. "I'm sorry."

Saul sighed and kissed her hair. "No, I'm sorry… I've just been so worried about you."

Qûs'ÿltn sighs. "Not to seem rude, but we still have places to go, right?"

Farah looked over at Qûs'ÿltn with confusion. "We found Saul. Where else do we have to go?"

Qûs'ÿltn looks surprised, then grins. "We still have to expose Rosalind's treachery and clear your name with the general populace, don't we?"

"Oh, yes," Farah agreed. "Of course." She turned to look at Saul. "They all hate me, don't they?"

Saul hesitated, giving Farah the answer she needed. Finally, he sighed and replied, "Everyone but Ben and Rose."

"Hmm! Lovely," she muttered.

Qûs'ÿltn chuckles. "Well, let's get to it, shall we? A lot of revenge plans to foil, a lot of people to possibly kill. . . a day in the life, I suppose."

"Indeed," Saul chimed in, hugging Farah closer.

She laughed and shook her head. "I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea to introduce the two of you," she muttered, but she was smiling all the while.

"Because I wasn't going to leave you alone 'til everything was fixed?" Qûs'ÿltn snorts.

Farah rolled her eyes. "Sure."

"Or do you regret it because of how well we might get along?" Saul asked with a mischievous grin.

Farah's eyes widened. "No–!"

Qûs'ÿltn grins at Saul, then looks at Farah, a mischevious glint in his eyes. "Yeah, you better be careful Farah. If me and Saul ever get started, we're not going to stop."

Farah's eyes widened. "Oh gods, please don't!"

Saul chuckled and nuzzled his nose into her cheek. "Too late!"

"Indeed." Qûs'ÿltn chuckles.

Farah rolled her eyes for what seemed like the millionth time that day. "Could we just go?" she asked, shaking her head. "Either back to my cottage or out to find Rosalind. I don't care which."

Qûs'ÿltn snorts. "I'd like to find Rosalind. I'm getting bored out here."

Farah shook her head. "Alright… let's keep going then."

Qûs'ÿltn grins. "Good."

He does a flip into the above branches, and after that he's not seen or heard 'til they reach the edge of the forest, where he's quietly carving a branch he'd found. Before Farah and Saul could see what he was carving, he put it away. "Took you guys long enough."

Farah had her head resting on Saul's shoulder and a satisfied smile on her face. "Yes, well… we had to catch up."

"Eleven years worth of catching up," Saul teased, bumping his hip against hers with a playful grin.

Qûs'ÿltn chuckles. "Yada yada yada."

"So I scouted ahead a bit. It seems someone caught wind of the mgic and decided to, y'know, summon something to deal wit it." he grins, pointing in the distance.
