gay-thic lit anyone? (o/o)

(Someone give me their good opinions on this before I go apeshit- anyways I just need to know whether or not this is a good idea. I was thinking, Victor moves away from the Walton-Saville fam for a while, goes a teensy bit crazy, makes a "Frankenstein's Bride" out of mostly the dead body of a girl he found at the bottom of a river, among other corpses, and when he does the who reanimation thing it catches some attention and people drag Victor away to an asylum or prison while the creature escapes with his sort-of-basically-sibling, idk. I just think it might make a good plot.)

(Indeed! Exactly what I was going for! But then it's also hurt/comfort because presumably the fam is coming to rescue Victor, at least eventually. But not before Vic gets into more trouble than he really needs to, obviously.)

(I'm doing some extra research on asylums and prisons in London around the period of this RP, and I'm wondering if you have any good sources? I wanna be at least slightly historically accurate. You by no means have to bother with research, I'm just wondering if you have any good resources already saved in like, bookmarks or an archive or something.)

(I mean fair. As far as I can tell, asylums aren't actually that deserving of their bad reputations, except for rampant sexism in their institutions and certain ways of treating patients that, while not super widespread and only used for patients who were especially problematic, were a bit overkill in cruelty. And prisons were just prisons, I don't have high opinions of them anyways but they were incredibly horrible and unsanitary environments, unfit for anyone, even murderers. I might go the prison route due to the fact that historical fiction that deals with asylums tends to stigmatize mental illness way too much and I don't want to be That Guy but I will do some more research to get a better perspective before I choose.)
