Haven: A Torch in the Night (may get heavy and violence is a possible occurrence)

"…..Thank you." She responded, glancing away. "You can, um, hold her if you want." Rainbow offered, seeing how curious they looked about it.

Rainbow nodded and brushed her long hair off of her shoulder, revealing a stone as well. "Our kind is very different from organics like you. Whenever we get hurt we retreat into our gems, making us able to survive when something might have fatally wounded us. For example, if you get stabbed, you would die, but we would just poof and come back later." Rainbow explained proudly, "She's gonna' come back any minute now."

"I am too. I don't think I could forgive myself if anything happened to her." She gave a soft smile. "I know she'll be thrilled to meet you too, but she's a little skittish after…" Her face darkened. "…Never mind."

Mallory noticed the little girl and gave a soft smile making her way over to her. "Hey sweetie." She said in a soft tone.

"Yes, please," Rainbow sighed, sounding tired. She held out her hand expectantly, not noticing the child.

She smiled at you and her face went a little green, visibly embarrassed. "T-thank you." Rainbow set the gem in her lap and started picking the ash out of her hair, just to be able to do something while she waited for her friend to return.

She smiled and bent down in front of the girl. "I'm Mallory, but you can call me Mal if you'd like to. Annabeth is a pretty name." She said tenderly:

She smiled and hugged the girl back. "Thank you." She Said with a soft smile. She felt so much emotion overwhelming her.

"Pardon, is there anywhere I can clean myself off?" She asked, "Because I'm not going to be able to do this by hand." Rainbow chuckled, seeming to be in a lighter mood.

"Thanks, ya pebble." She called back, standing up and began walking to the garden, taking the gem along with, putting it back in her breast pocket.

Pull yourself together, Rainbow, you're not here to be buddies with everyone, you shouldn't trust them. I've never seen some of these creatures in the logs, though, they were a couple thousand years old, things could have happened sense then.
She thought, confused as to why she was finding herself liking them in just one night. But luckily, she would able to keep her mind off of this touchy subject as she walked into the garden and peered at the springs.

Anna however had not followed any of them but stayed by Mallory's side "How old are you Mallory?" Anna asked as she looked over and cleaned up the damage done by Rainbow by flicking her head up a little, all the pieces flying back up into the ceiling, good as new.

Mallory smiled at the girl. "I'm sixteen." She said in a soft tone. "And you're twelve?" She asked softly.

She gave her a slight look. "You- you don't think it's weird?" She asked looking at the girl with a soft but surprised expression.

She quietly watched as she sat at the edge, looking at them as if they were speaking a whole different language. Rainbow took a scoop of water and splashed it onto her arms, taking her eyes off the two to finally relax.

"It's not just your world…" Rainbow agreed in a mutter, resting one hand on her cheek with a scowl, staring into the water. A couple seconds later she shook her head and pushed her anger away, trying to stay calm.
