"Should be, yeah." Lucky nodded, ignoring his first question. The answer wasn't that simple anyway, more like a mix of both. She shook off her thoughts, digging around in her pouch. She had a secret pocket, specifically for being strip searched, and luckily kept a needle in there. "You want me t' help now, or…?" She asked, looking up at him. If he'd rather they get somewhere safer, more comfortable, the injured man would make it.
"Haven't seen ya' around here before~" (O/O) (closed)
"Yer' the doc' here. Its yer' call." Estaban looked back to see how far off the ship was. A good distance, good enough that'd he'd be rowing for quiet sometime. "If Raphael dies," he started, venom leaking in, "we will though you over board."
Lucky narrowed her eyes at him, leaning forward. "You've got my word here, the only thing he'd be dying of is an infection I can't control." With that, she pulled out the needle, a spool of thread accompanying it. It wasn't quite proper medical supplies, but it would have to do for now.
Estaban nodded his head and focused on his rowing. He'd gotten a pretty good pace going, but his arms began to ache. How long had it been since he'd rowed a boat? Gosh it seemed like forever ago. "So," Estaban started, an attempt at small talk, "ya' said somethin' bout' wanting ta be a nurse? That why they'd called ya'd a witch?"
"Back home, before the fire." Lucky said, setting to cleaning up some of the blood with a handkerchief. "My ma was a nurse, and o' course, I wanted t' be like her. Admired the hell out of the woman. She was ecstatic about it, too." Once she had gotten as much blood as she could, she slipped her belt off and handed it to the pirate to bit down on if needed, then started stitching up his wound. "Not why I got called a witch, though."
Estaban watched her carfuly as he continued rowing. Questions starting to form in his head. Though he didn't want to get off topic. There'd be plenty of time for other questions later. "Then what made em' fear ya' so much? Ta' call ya'd a witch that is?" He figured they had more then one reason to fear her. Heck, Estaban was sure he'd have feared her too if he wasn't a pirate.
"Not too sure." Lucky said, after a quiet pause to think. She never once looked up from her task, or stopped. "Maybe a few reasons. Although, I'm guessin' my last conquest didn't go as unnoticed as I'd hoped." She said, huffing a quiet laugh.
"Conquest?" Estaban raised an eye brow as Raphael whimmpered.
Raphael was greatful for the belt in his mouth. If not for it, he'd surely have bitten off his tounge by now. Or at least tried to. He'd be used to getting wounded, but he'd never needed such work done on him before because of one.
"Hey." Lucky said, voice softening. "Almost done, alright? I'm goin' as quick as I can." She took a moment before replying to Estaban. "They've got a high military official staying here-there? I wanted something of mine back, so I got it back."
Estaban watched the two. Worry write all over his face. He was a pirate, he wasn't supposed to care about anyone. But he did. He cared about his friend. "Thank you." He said, paying no heed to what she'd previously said.
"It's nothin'. What kinda asshole would I be if I didn't help?" Lucky said, cracking a smile as she tied off the string. She grabbed her handkerchief, using it to dab gently at the fresh blood. Her hands were incredibly steady, considering the blood, and what she was doing.
A smile tugged at Estaban's lips. He was glad she'd helped. He didn't know what he'd have done if she hasn't.
Meanwhile Raphael was greatdul that the small stabs had stopped. Becoming nothing but a fiery pain in his side. He breathed a sigh of relief. Wishing he could voice his own thanks.
Lucky dug around one of her pouches a bit after wiping off her hands best she could, and pulled out a small cloth bag. She took a few dried leaves from it, and held them out to the pirate. "I can't really make tea out of it right now, but try these. They should help with the pain."
(I have an ideaaa! Okay so Idk if you wanted this to be a romance or just and adventure. But if you want, you can either have Lucky fall in love with Estaban or Raphael. Idk. I just thought that might make things interesting lol. Also sorry this is gonna be kimda short.)
"What is that?" Estaban stopped rowing, and quickly grabbed her wrist to stop her. Its not like he didn't trust her, well at least not completely.
((I absolutely adore romances. Hmmm, which would you rather?))
"Wintergreen leaves." Lucky said, stilling as he grabbed her wrist. "I'd appreciate if you'd let go of me. Want me t' eat one, to prove they ain't…whatever you think they are?"
(I could careless. I'm honestly up for anything.)
Estaban narowed his eyes and let go. "Yes actually." He picked his rowing up again. The ship growing ever closer.
"Such a waste of plants." Lucky said, making a face before very dramatically popping a leaf in her mouth. She raised an eyebrow at Estaban as she chewed, once again incredibly dramatic, and swallowed. "Ta-da, I'm not dead. Now can I help?"
((Hmmm…well, I haven't seen much of Raphael's character, so I wouldn't be quite able to decide who Lucky'd mesh better with….her and Estaban would be such a power couple though.))
"Right. Sorry." Estaban rolled his eyes at her dramaticnes. "That was overly dramatic though." A small smile lifted to his lips.
(Hmmmm. I think they would. I'm not really good at RPing to many characters at once. So I could be doing a better job with Raphael, but I'm kinda to lazy to.)
"You weren' sayin' that when my dramatic tendencies got your ass outta trouble." Lucky pointed out, holding the leaves out to Raphael once again.
((Estaban/Lucky it is?))
Estaban would have admitted that she was right, if only he wasn't to proud too. Though he was grateful she did help. Of not he n Raphael might have been full of bullets by now.
Raphael took the leaves, marking an attempt at a small "thank you". That sounded more like a dying goat.
(Yeah sure.)
Lucky reached up, taking her broken nose in one hand, and jerked it back into place with a crack. She wasn't as careful with her own injuries as she was others, that much was obvious already. And the pain was a welcome distraction from the reality that had just jumped at her. She'd be on a ship full of men, who wouldn't be too happy to have her there.
Estaban slowed to a stop. The ship towering over them now. A rope ladder was funlng over the side, almost hitting Estaban. "That was horrifying. Are ya' alright?" He asked, mentioning to the fact she'd just forced her nose back into place.
" 'M fine." Lucky said, wiggling her nose as the feeling started coming back to it. "How're you gonna get him over the side?" She nodded to the injured pirate, raising an eyebrow.
"Figured I'd tie the ladder round him. You wanna go up first?" He knew both ideas where bad. But Estaban wasn't nescacerly the smartest around, and couldn't really think of another way.
Lucky made a face, but shrugged. "If I get thrown off the side, I'm either stabbin' or hauntin' you." She threatened, looking up at the ship.
"Just tell 'em yer' the only one keep Rahpeal alive." Estaban tossed her his hat, "but if ya' can, don't talk. Hide yer' face with this." He was slightly worried they might not be that stupid. But then again, these men where pretty dense. "Tell 'em yer' a witch if ya' really have ta'. "
Lucky shot him a smirk, and tapped the drying blood on her chest. It hadn't smudged that much, still keeping the odd symbols. She put the hat on, pulling the brim low over her face, and then started to climb. "Ya sure you'll be a'ight gettin' 'im up?"
"Yeah imma sure. Now get before I make ya go last." Estaban gave a huff, almost like he was laughing at a joke only he found funny.
He pulled Raphael into a sitting position. Careful not to hurt him any farther.
"Don' upset the stitches unless you got more thread onboard." Was the last thing Lucky said, before she finished her climb in silence. She pulled herself up unto the deck, leaning back against the railing of the boat to shoot a quick glance down at Estaban, without turning her back on the rest of the ship.
Of course the crew was half startled to see someone the didn't know come up first. But they soon had their wits about them, weapons being drawn. "Get ready to pull Raphael up!" Estaban shouted. His words drawing the crews attention.
It didn't take long before Estaban had somehow tired the ladder around Raphael, and shout for the others to pull him up. Soon the ladder was thrown other once again, and Estaban too made his way up.
