(yes I definitely do love the nickname XD
Awesome)
Sebastian stepped aside to wait for her, running a hand through his hair. He exhaled slowly, glad that his gift had not been taken the wrong way.

(Lol.)
Devon grinned at her as she grabbed the gift and two coffees. She walked around the counter, handing Sebastian one of the drinks with a small smile. "I'll just go grab my purse and we can go."
Sebastian nodded, returning the smile. "Thanks for the coffee," he called after her.
(Sorry, I'm being slow… I'm watching Riverdale.)
Devon gave him another quick smile before disappearing into the back room. She set the gift down, grabbed her purse, and walked back out to Sebastian.
"Okay… You ready?" she asked, pushing her purse up higher onto her shoulder.
(np lol
is that show good? I sorta want to watch it)
"Yup," he replied in the affirmative, pushing the door open and holding it for her. "Where are we walking to?"
(also, for the reason to panic thing, maybe someone catcalls her?)
(I'm only on E2. Lol. It's really interesting so far.
And that sounds good!)
Devon shrugged, thanking him as she stepped out. "There's a small lake nearby. We could go there?"
(oof)
"Sounds good," he agreed as they began to stroll down the sidewalk. "Lead the way. How are you?"
(Could you write it, though? I'm not good at the sort of thing. Not the timing of it. Lol.)
"I'm doing pretty good," Devon answered, nodding slowly as she turned left. "You?"
(sure, np
next post or a bit after?)
"Better," he admitted, pressing lightly on the soft part of the Band-Aid on his cheek. He ran his finger over the raised scar that arched over the bridge of his nose, humming softly.
(Thanks.
Maybe a bit after? Or… Hm. Idek…)
"How's your head?" Devon asked gently, casting a glance in his direction.
(yeah sure, a bit after works)
"Hm? Oh, it's fine, I guess." He gave her a wry smile. "I've sort of learned to filter out pain by now."
Devon frowned a bit. "You shouldn't have to do that… Layla was asking for 'Bahstin' this morning," she chuckled. "I think she misses her new friend."
“Awe,” Sebastian chuckled, running a hand through his hair. “She’s adorable. How is she doing?”
"She's getting more and more stubborn every day. I love her to pieces, but she can be hard to discipline," Devon said with a small smile. "She will only eat cereal for breakfast now. If I try to feed her oatmeal, she has a meltdown."
Sebastian let loose a short laugh. “Hey, a girl’s gotta be independent, right? She’s growing up fast, hm?”
"She is, yeah," Devon sighed wistfully. "Gosh, it's still hard to believe she's two… She was so little when she was born. About seven pounds."
“Aww,” he repeated, his smile widening. “When’s her birthday?”
"January third, at midnight exactly," Devon chuckled. "I got to stay a whole extra day at the hospital, being pampered by the nurses, just because she was born in the middle of the night. It was great."
“That.. sounds like a pretty good deal.” Sebastian began to say more, when a loud whistle sounded behind them. He frowned, turning his head.
"It– It was," Devon stuttered, holding her coffee with both hands in a tight grip. She glanced back in the direction the sound had come from, then looked forward immediately.
The call had come from a tall, red-haired man with a wolfish grin on his features. Sebastian clenched his jaw immediately, taking hold of Devon’s shoulder and pulling her forward. But the man was relentless, continuing to shout horrible obscenities.
Devon chewed on her lip, her biting growing more intense the more the man yelled. She hated that this happened to her every. Single. Time. But she couldn't help it… It just reminded her of that night…
Her breaths were nervously shallow, her hands were trembling, and her gaze was darting around, looking for an escape. Not even Sebastian by her side was helping, though it seemed like it should have. And her lip was starting to bleed…
Sebastian swore inwardly, barely containing the urge to turn around and drive his fist into the man’s face. “Come on.. Let’s get out of here.” He pulled her around a corner and into a more crowded street, but the man, clearly drunk, still pursued.
If Devon squeezed her cup any tighter, it would break and spill hot coffee all over her. And she really needed to stop chewing on her already-bleeding lip.
She just wanted to curl up and hide, but she couldn't do that in the middle of the street. Instead, she squeezed her eyes shut and let Sebastian lead her wherever. Anywhere was better than near the red-head.
“You’re okay, it’s okay..” he kept murmuring to her, terrified by her shaking hands and closed eyes. Eventually, they lost the cat caller, and Sebastian pulled Devon into a less crowded street.
(I'm rereading the Cliché RP… Lol. I love Huntzie.)
"Sorry… I'm sorry… You shouldn't have to see me like this. Sorry," Devon whispered, letting go of her coffee with one jittery hand to rub at her face.
(Same tho)
“No.” He pulled her into an alley, took the coffee from her hands, set it on the ground, and carefully took hold of her shoulders. “Stop apologizing, okay? You have absolutely no reason to apologize, so you hear me?” He kept his voice gentler than he’d ever thought it would be able to go, soothing her, calming her.
Devon nodded slowly, moving both hands to rub at her face as tears started to fall. She was still shaking, but she had stopped chewing on her lip.
"I just… I— I can't handle that kind of thing anymore," she said quietly, her voice wavering.
Sebastian hastily patted at his pockets, pulling out a packet of tissues and pressing it into her hands. I canes handle that kind of thing… anymore…. oh my god. Layla.
"And you shouldn't have to– you shouldn't have to deal with that kind of thing. Ever," he did his best to reassure her, moving to embrace her and then pulling his hands back, afraid of hurting her more.
(Wait, so is he hugging her or no?)
Devon took the tissues, softly thanking Sebastian as she pulled one out and dabbed her eyes with it. She tried to get her breathing under control, taking deep, still-shaky breaths. Her heart was pounding wildly, but it calmed with her breathing.
