Jackson continued eating in quiet. He could hang out tonight and maybe tomorrow, but he had practices starting soon.
Hey, wanna gay one on one?
Eric chewed his lip, fidgeting a bit.
Jax looked up at Eric, "So, uh, how are you?"
"Pretty okay." Eric said, looking up. "You?"
"Pretty good," Jax nodded along.
"That's good…" He mumbled. Why are you so awkward? Find something to say!
Jackson nodded and continued to quietly eat his sandwich. He didn't know what to say, and he felt bad.
Eric glanced up. "So, excited for the concert?" He asked, going with the first thing he thought of.
Jackson nodded, "Yeah, it sounds like it'll be a lot of fun."
Eric smiled. "It's amazing…"
"Have you been to a concert before?" Jackson asked.
Eric nodded. "I try and go to all the local ones I can!"
"What's it like?" Jackson asked, "I've never been to a concert."
"Loud music, a lot of people, moshing, singing along badly, banter, one band member doing something crazy on stage-"
Jackson sat there listening intently, "Wow, sounds intense."
Eric nodded. "Best feeling in the world. It's like being high, almost. I think. I've never actually been high. But you get my point."
"Yeah, I get your point," Jackson nodded with a bright grin.
Eric smiled, picking at his food again.
Jackson continued eating his sandwich.
Eric hummed slightly, bouncing his leg.
"Um, do you always eat school lunches?" Jackson asked Eric. Trying to fill the silence.
"Yeah. Half the time I'm just not in much of a state, whether sleep deprived or not, to make my own lunch, so." He shrugged.
Jackson nodded along, "Do the school lunches suck as much as I heard they do?"
"They do. But it's food." He said, looking up. "So I can't complain."
"I guess," Jackson thought for a moment, "I could maybe bring you some food from my house? So you don't have to eat the school lunches that is. You don't have to accept."
"N-no, you- you don't have to do that." Eric said, blushing. Why would he want to…?
Jackson stared down at his sandwich, "Okay, um, it was just an offer."
"I-I mean, I appreciate the offer, really!" He said. "I just don't want to have you doing something unnecessary for me."
“Oh, uh, yeah,” Jackson let out a nervous laugh, “I guess it is a little unnecessary.”
Eric looked down, playing with his fingers.
