@Fraust

Lucas weakly laughed again. "Y-Yeah… I've been hit a few times in baseball. It doesn't feel particularly nice, as you can probably imagine. Mostly body shots, but I've taken a couple to the head as well. We've got a game this Friday if you'd be interested in coming?"

Eugene nodded. "I'd definitely be interested! What time is it at?" He asked, pulling his phone out of his pocket to write down the time. "Baseball, volleyball, and sometimes soccer are the only sports worth my time. Basketball and football just aren't my thing."

@Fraust

"It starts at seven. Is that okay? Usually they don't go too late. We have a pretty good team." Lucas fidgeted a bit. "It'll be nice to see someone I know in the crowd for once." He smiled softly.

"That's totally fine, I'll definitely be there. I'm happy to be that person in the crowd then, it's no fun to see no one that you know in the crowd. I'll try to sit in the front so you know I'm there." Eugene noted the baseball game on his calendar and returned his phone to his pocket.

@Fraust

"Alright. Thanks a lot for being willing to come, Eugene." Lucas smiled a bit more brightly. "It means a lot, really. I'll be sure to show up to the volleyball game."

"You're very welcome!" Eugene glanced around, seeing fewer people than a few minutes ago. The bell would probably ring soon. And he was right, the first bell sounded signaling for everyone to head to class. "Do we have first hour together?"

@Fraust

Lucas nodded. "Mhmm. Usually I sit in the back, though, so we didn't interact too much…" He shrugged a bit and started heading towards the room, glancing over his shoulder to make sure Eugene was following. He seemed almost nervous that Eugene would leave.

"Cool, cool." Eugene walked right next to Lucas, not really wanting to leave his side, it was a good thing they had the first class of the day together. He was glad they had met, this already seemed like the start of a good friendship.

@Fraust

Lucas relaxed a bit when he noticed Eugene sticking close to him. "I… uh… I think we have free seating, so we can always sit next to each other if you'd like? I-I mean, not if you don't want to… I know there's a few empty seats in our class…"

"Way ahead of you, I was already planning on sitting next to you. I don't think I want to sit anywhere else, now that I know you. I barely know anyone in that class." They went up a flight of stairs, the classroom being the first one after the stairs.

@Fraust

Lucas flushed lightly and laughed a bit, running the fingers of one hand through his hair. "Y-Yeah, me either, honestly… as you can probably tell, I'm not exactly the social type. And most of the people in that class are kinda jerks…"

"Yeah, 90% of this school are jerks." Eugene scanned the classroom for two seats, preferably close to the back. Less than a minute later, he spotted a spot. "Does there work?" He asked gesturing to the two seats.

@Fraust

Lucas nodded a bit and sat down, putting his books on his desk and starting to arrange them to his liking. "Fine with me." Once he seemed satisfied with the organization of his things, he pulled a small, black sketchbook from the pile and started doodling.

Eugene smiled and went to sit next to Lucas. He left everything in his backpack except for one notebook and a pencil. He rested his chin on his arms, staring up at the whiteboard.

@Fraust

Lucas rarely paid too much attention in this class. He listened enough to take notes, but he mostly doodled. Right now, he seemed to be detailing the laces on a baseball drawing.

Eugene rarely took notes, usually passing just fine without them. And if the teacher didn't check that he was taking notes, what even would the point be? He should probably be more concerned about taking notes and doing anything to ensure he had a good grade so that he could stay on the volleyball team. But it had never been a problem in the past.

@Fraust

Lucas yawned a bit, no longer caring to focus at all. He hadn't gotten much sleep the previous night, and he was still really achy and sore. He ignored it, though, and continued doodling idly.

Eugene simply watched the dry erase marker write on the whiteboard with his head rested in his hand. In a way, it was relaxing. Even so, he was already ready for class to be over.

@Fraust

(Sure)
After school ended, Lucas waved goodbye to Eugene and headed to baseball practice. He tossed a ball back and forth with a teammate for a bit before they actually started doing batting practice.

Eugene had darted to the locker rooms to change into the volleyball uniform. Leaving his bags, he went to the gym to join his team. He had been a little late, but not any more than 5 minutes. There was about half an hour until the first team played then a while until he played.

@Fraust

After an overall successful and uneventful practice, Lucas changed back into normal clothes and headed off to see Eugene's game. It took him a while to figure out where it was, but he eventually found it.

Eugene's game had started about fifteen minutes before Lucas got there. It was 6-4 so far, Eugene's team in the lead. Gene had just recieved, the ball going to the setter. The setter tossed the ball to the ace and they spiked. But there had been three blockers and the ball ricocheted back to the ground, the opposing team scoring.

@Fraust

Lucas found a seat and started watching the game curiously. He spotted Eugene and waved, though he didn't really expect the other to see him. He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed softly.

Since there was a point scored, everyone was rotating spots and the server was getting ready, Eugene had seen Lucas' wave. His focused face turned happy with a bright smile. He didn't quite know why he was so happy to see the other.

@Fraust

Lucas smiled softly when he noticed Eugene's grin and settled himself down in his seat to watch. He fidgeted a bit as he waited for the next point to begin.

The opposing team served and another teammate received it. Before this play had started, the setter signaled to Eugene the toss that he was going to do. So far Eugene hadn't gotten a spike in and he was missing it. But this one usually worked well. The setter made eye contact with Eugene and tossed. Gene started running, jumping right before the net and spiking the ball right onto the other side of the net. That all happened very fast. It was, by far, Eugene's favorite thing in volleyball.

@Fraust

Lucas jumped a bit at the sharp noise the ball made as it struck the ground, but applauded anyways once he came back to himself. His smile returned, as he was glad to see Eugene doing something he loved.

Eugene's team cheered and got back into formation a few seconds later. It was their turn to serve.

(Time skip)

The first match ended, Eugene's team winning, but only 25-23. The second match was about to start, but before it did, Eugene had the chance to give Lucas a slight wave before needing to focus back on the game. With the second game, Gene's team lost. This meant they had to play once more, as a tie-breaker.

@Fraust

Lucas returned the wave and watched the game intently, sighing in frustration when Eugene's team lost. He cheered and clapped whenever Eugene scored a point, and groaned along with everyone else when they lost one.
