This time, Eugene was hesitant to follow. He wasn't sure if he'd be allowed in the room. Already, he didn't like the hospital. It was so distant and the opposite of cozy and friendly.

@Fraust

No one stopped Eugene from coming in if he wanted to. They just went on trying to treat Lucas, who still wasn't very coherent. They cleaned up all his wounds and bandaged him before dragging him off to do an X-ray.

Eugene carefully followed the doctors into the X-ray room. He stayed back and in a corner, just to make sure he wasn't in the way. Just like the other room, it wasn't very welcoming. No wonder people didn't like hospitals.

@Fraust

Lucas was X-rayed and the films were checked over. In addition to a fracture on his cheek from the baseball, he had a few partially healed cracks in his ribs.

Those cracked ribs definitely weren't from the game, at least Eugene didn't think so. This worried him more than he was before. Something that made him more nervous than worried, was the fact that no parents had come to make sure Lucas was okay. Surely his parents had been contacted?

@Fraust

Lucas was still struggling to stay awake by now, and was basically dead on his feet. The doctors kept him sitting up on the cot so he was less likely to fall asleep, but Lucas was almost asleep anyways.
