"How kind of you to say to the table," Eve remarked, arching her eyebrows.

"How kind of you to say to the table," Eve remarked, arching her eyebrows.
Rowan looked up at Eve meekly, whining in protest. "Telling you you're pretty to your face is hard…"
group
Eve rested her chin on her palm and waited.
Rowan was very red by now and was practically cowering with his heart pounding hard in his chest. "Y-You're… you're pretty too…" He said softly after he'd mustered up the courage to do so.
group
Eve kicked his foot lightly under the table. "Thank you."
"We should… um… probably get going now, y-yeah?" Rowan pulled out his wallet so he could leave some cash on the table to pay for breakfast.
group
Eve blocked him and handed her card to the waitress as she came back. "Thank you," Eve remarked as the waitress headed back to charge her card. "My treat," she said to Rowan knowingly. "I told you."
Rowan stuck his tongue out a bit and reluctantly put his wallet back into his pocket. "You really don't have to pay for me, Eve… I feel bad."
group
"I know. But I did. I told you countless times at the apartment that it was my treat," she reminded him.
"I thought that maybe you'd forget?" Rowan shrugged and smiled sheepishly. "Why do you want to treat me, anyway? I didn't do anything to earn it."
group
"You don't have to earn good things, Rowan. Sometimes they just happen." Eve perked up at the waitress returned with her card.
"You're all set! You two have a good one!" she enthused.
"Thank you," Eve remarked and looked to Rowan. "Where to next?"
Rowan thanked the waitress and got to his feet with a sigh. "I dunno… it's just weird to be given stuff without needing to do anything in return." He followed Eve out of the restaurant. "I guess I could look into nearby pet shops."
group
"It's called, 'I'm a nice person and I like you, so I do things for you,' congratulations," Eve explained with a laugh. "Look up pet places on Maps!"
Rowan rolled his eyes and pulled out his phone as he got into the car. "Yeah, yeah…" He scrolled through the nearby places with a soft hum. "I mean, there's a few nearby, but I don't really know the difference between them. There's also a cat Cafe, so we could sit in there with the kittens for an hour to see if we like any of them."
group
Eve nodded vigorously. "Yes! What are we waiting for?"
"Ah? You want to do that right now?" Rowan asked, going to where he could reserve spots in the soonest hour.
group
"Well, I mean, if you'd like to," she replied, leaning closer to see what his screen said.
"Yeah, sure. Works for me. We should be able to make it for the next hour." Rowan shrugged.
group
"Let's go!" Eve declared, moving swiftly towards her car.
"Alright, I'll send you the address." Rowan texted the address to Eve and got into the car.
group
She grinned as the text appeared on her phone. "Lovely," she said, slipping into the driver's side and starting the engine.
Rowan buckled himself in and put his phone away, watching out the window as they drove to the cat Cafe.
group
Eve glanced over at him. "What kind of music do you like?" she asked.
"Uhh… anything is fine, other than country." Rowan shrugged.
group
Eve hummed absently, pressing the button to turn the radio on.
Rowan looked up when they arrived at the cat Cafe, his expression brightening a bit.
group
Eve parked and observed the building as well. "Ready?" she asked.
Rowan nodded and smiled softly as he got out of the car. "Yeah, you?"
group
She got out and circled around to his side. "Of course!"
Rowan looked up at the building for a moment before heading inside. He looked into the room where around twenty kittens were running around and playing.
