Joy finally grinned at him, her eyes twinkling.
“That sounds fun,” she smiled, reaching out to kiss him on the cheek. “Thank you, Bryce.”
Joy finally grinned at him, her eyes twinkling.
“That sounds fun,” she smiled, reaching out to kiss him on the cheek. “Thank you, Bryce.”
Beyce smiled down at her and returned the kiss with a small one on her lips. “Any time, beautiful. Should we head out on that walk now, then?”
Joy looked at him, blinking slowly.
“What about that ice cream?” She murmured. “We haven’t gotten the ice cream.”
“We can eat that while we walk, I suppose. Should we just head to Dairy Queen? Or Coldstone? Coldstone is better, in my opinion,” Bryce mused. “But it’s up to you.”
“Coldstone,” Joy answered almost immediately. “We can go to Coldstone. I like their chocolate chip ice cream.”
(I literally went there once before I found out that I’m allergic to dairy… sigh It was so good…)
“I think I’ll get the strawberry cheesecake ice cream,” Bryce declared, offering Joy his hand as he stood. “I think that’s my favorite.”
(Oh no…)
Joy took his hand, slowly standing up.
“I’d love to steal some of yours,” she joked before covering her mouth. “Oh, I shouldn’t have said that out loud!”
“Why not?” Bryce laughed, squeezing her hand gently. “Think people will find it strange that a girlfriend wants to steal some of her boyfriend’s ice cream?”
“No, of course not,” Joy replied, removing her hand from her mouth. “Now you’ll know I’m going to steal your ice cream. You’ll know to watch out.”
Bryce chuckled and kissed the side of her head before leading her over to the car. “You can steal as much of my ice cream as you want. I’ll just get extra.”
Joy pouted.
“Now where’s the fun in that?” She walked alongside him, hugging his arm tightly. Bryce always managed to make her feel better. Just a while ago, she’d been crying her eyes out. Now she felt better enough to laugh. It was Bryce’s magic.
“The fun is that you get to eat my ice cream, and I get to enjoy it until I can’t,” Bryce declared with a chuckle.
“You can also share mine,” Joy offered. “See, I’m your girlfriend. What’s mine is yours. Similarly, what’s yours is mine.”
“I might take you up on that offer, then,” Bryce said with a playful wink as they reached the car. He opened the door for her with a grin and gestures for her to sit inside. “My lady…”
Joy bowed, the smile getting wider on her face.
“Why, thank you, my love!”
(I gotta go. ):
(Aw…
Should we skip to when they get home?)
(I guess?)
(Lol. Um… Just to when they’re setting the bath up?)
(Well, since it’s what Bryce is doing… I guess you should start…? XD)
(Lol. Okay. Give me a bit. I think we’re almost done…)
(All right~)
Bryce hummed as he sprinkled lavender oil into the warm bath. He’d already lit some candles and placed them around the bathroom, lighting it in a soft, yellow glow. A speaker sat in one corner, playing slow, gentle music.
When he finished, he stepped back and observed what he’d done. It looked nice, peaceful. Hopefully, it would calm Joy. Maybe lift her spirits a little.
“Joy, love? I’m finished if you want to come in,” he called, sticking his head into the bedroom.
Joy poked her head inside, immediately feeling the warm glow of the candles. Her face softened and she walked over to Bryce, standing on the tip of her toes to give him a kiss.
“Thank you, my Wolf,” she whispered, seeing the sight making her feel better already. “You’re going to join me, right?”
Joy was truly blessed to have someone like Bryce. This wasn’t a little thing this time, though. He did everything that he knew would cheer her up. It’s like Bryce knew exactly what he needed to do. Joy was thankful beyond words.
Bryce smiled softly and kissed her back. “If you want me to, then I gladly would. Is that what you want, then?”
Joy nodded almost immediately—too eagerly.
“Yes,” she said, her hands fisting his shirt. “Join me, please.”
“Of course, love. Let’s go get in now, then. Don’t want the water to get cold, right?” Bryce said as he stepped into the bathroom and closed the door behind them.
(Skip? Not it!)
Joy felt refreshed after their bath. They were now in bed, with her head on Bryce’s shoulder, his arm around her waist and their tangled together.
“It was a long day,” Joy murmured.
Bryce hummed his agreement and kissed her cheek gently. “It was, yes. I’m glad to have some down time, now… How are you feeling, love?”
Joy took a deep breath, her eyes closed.
“I expected my mother to react like that, but not my father…” she murmured. “I’m glad you’re here with me. I’m glad your parents approved…”
“I know, sweetheart… But everything will turn out okay. All right? Everything will be just fine,” Bryce assured her in a gentle murmur as he rolled into his side and pulled her into his chest. He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head before running his fingers through her hair. “Do you want to go shopping tomorrow? I’ve got the day off of work.”
