Andrea’s smile grew as the crew joined in, causing her to skip a word every so often as she caught herself giggling and laughing with the crew. Her eyes even opened eventually, the happiness of not being treated like an outsider to the crew obvious in her eyes.

Daso glanced over at Andrea, his smile mirroring hers. Her eyes were glowing in the firelight, and the excitement of the song and the crowd seemed to have been contagious. She was so, so pretty that it was hard to take his eyes off of her. He was suddenly filled with gladness that they'd run into each other, and that they were traveling companions. He laughed, delighted, and played the next verse.

@gracehustle

With the third verse started, she tried to get back to singing all the lyrics with a smile, but even then she couldn’t stop her small giggles every so often. It was fun she decided, one of the first fun things she had done in a long time.

@WriteOutofTime

Daso finished the song with a rambunctious laugh. "Should we sing another one?" he asked.

@gracehustle

Andrea just smiled, leaving it up to the crew. Based on the almost all shouts of yes, she nodded and looked at Daso, “I think that’s the signal that we might just have to.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Sounds like it," he laughed, strumming the chords for the next song. "All we have left is the romantic one, do you wanna do that one?"

@gracehustle

“Sure, why not,” She said with a shrug, just thinking of keeping the crew occupied and happy. Her eyes flicked around the boat and she tried to remember the lyrics to the song.

@WriteOutofTime

Daso smiled softly, his playing become a gentler, quieter tune. Their audience quieted down, listening intently. He began the first verse, "First the tide rushes in
Plants a kiss on the shore
Then rolls out to sea
And the sea is very still once more
So I rush to your side
Like the oncoming tide."

@gracehustle

Andrea sang along softly so his voice was the focus and not hers, a smile on her face as she looked over at him. His voice was amazing, much better than hers even though hers wasn’t terrible.

Daso turned towards her a little, ignoring the crowd for a moment. Suddenly he felt like it was just the two of them. Their voices melded together perfectly, his was the melody, hers was the harmony. He smiled gently, continuing, "With one burning thought
Will your arms open wide
At last we're face to face
And as we kiss through an embrace
I can tell, I, I can feel
You are love, you are real."

@gracehustle

Her eyes sparkled and she ignored the crowd, even as there was a slightly mumble going through and they started nudging each other and pointing up at the two of them. Still just being the harmony while he played the instrument and sang the lyrics.

@WriteOutofTime

Daso moved towards her a little bit. He felt he was almost being pulled towards her. Their duet was almost perfect, made more beautiful by the softness between them. He went on, singing the very last verse in a softer voice, "Really mine in the rain
In the dark, in the sun
Like the tide at its ebb
I'm at peace in the web of your arms
Ebb tide."

@gracehustle

Absentmindedly, she took a step towards him, lost in the music and still looking over at him as he sang the last verse. She wouldn’t admit it, but his voice was beautiful and she might have been admiring his eyes just a little.

The crowd was dead silent for a moment, watching them, but Daso didn't notice. He felt himself blushing all of a sudden. Him, the smooth, charming, unflappable Daso was blushing? He grinned at that.

"Kiss her!" someone (kind of sounded like the captain) shouted suddenly, giving rise to the entire crew chanting it as well.

@gracehustle

Andrea was fine until someone shouted for Daso to kiss her, when she blushed furiously and had to look away with a smile. Even just the thought of him kissing her made her blush more and for a moment she glanced up at him as her smile grew.

@WriteOutofTime

Daso flushed. He kind of wondered why she was blushing, then he wondered why he was blushing. He decided to try and regain his wits as he flashed a brilliant smile to the crowd. "Wouldn't you all like that?" he laughed.

@gracehustle

“Just kiss her!” The same voice that started the chant called, though the person who said it wasn’t drawing enough attention to themselves to figure out who it was, “You’re trying to chicken out.”

Andrea fiddled with the hem of her shirt and tried to hide her clearly flushed face, looking intently at one of the boards. Her smile was still on her face, though she tried to hide it as well and seem like she didn’t want to be kissed.

@WriteOutofTime

He scratched the back of his neck nervously, still laughing. "I- I mean, I…" he lowered his voice, his ears burning. "Do you…like, want me to?"

@gracehustle

A chorus of cheers was his answer, several bets clearly being placed in the back on wether he would do it or not.

“I’m fine with it,” Andrea mumbled to herself, eyes fixing on a loose thread on her shirt so she didn’t have to show how flushed her face really was.

@WriteOutofTime

"In front of everyone?" he whispered, leaning in a bit closer, his eyes glued to her face.

@gracehustle

She looked up at him with a small nod, her blush spreading, “I don’t think they’re leaving anytime soon, so yeah?” Andrea bit her lip and looked out at the crowd before back at Daso, “Just call it payment for you helping me while I was in the brig.”

@WriteOutofTime

Daso tried to keep up his smooth facade, but he was internally panicking. He'd never kissed anyone before –what if he messed it up? He hesitantly cupped her face with his hand, leaning in and stopping inches from her lips. "Are you sure? Is –is this okay?"

@gracehustle

She could feel all the eyes on them and she sighed, rolling her eyes with a tiny smile before pressing her lips to his gently. Andrea had only ever kissed one boy before, though she didn’t like talking about it unless asked. After a moment she pulled away and looked at him, whispering, “Was that alright?” While the crew cheered and wither made or lost money with their bets.

@WriteOutofTime

His eyes were wide and he could hardly breathe. Her lips were soft and she tasted like…flowers, or something. He was usually so much more poetic than this. Oh, he hadn't said anything in a while. He needed to speak. C'mon, Daso, speak… "Yep," he squeaked, his face a brilliant red.

@gracehustle

"See? Not that bad," She said, cracking a tiny smile and ignoring her still very blushing face. His face seemed to flush even more and she couldn't help but chuckle a little and place a feather of a kiss to his cheek before stepping away, "You look like you just stopped working Daso, did I do aomething wrong?"

@WriteOutofTime

He shook himself, forcing himself to move. "That was my first kiss," he admitted, his smoothness no where to be found. He laughed, patting the sides of his face. "Would it be weird it I said it was magical?"

@gracehustle

Andrea giggled and shrugged, her face flushing more, "A little, but if it was your first kiss, not really." She fiddled with a strand of her hair and smiled at the fact that she had just kissed a guy, like she was the one to kiss him, not the other way around.

@WriteOutofTime

Daso opened his mouth to say something else –probably to apologize for how awkward he was being– but at that moment the captain came over, slightly tipsy but with a grin on his usually solemn face. He clasped Daso on the shoulder. "Don't worry, lad, you'll learn," he laughed. He turned his smile towards Andrea. "I trust that you'll watch out for him? He doesn't seem to have a lot of experience in anything much."

@gracehustle

"I'll watch it for him, I can do that," She replied with a nod, her smile growing, "He definitely needs to learn some things, he's a little clueless."

@WriteOutofTime

"Hey! I'm not clueless!" He was slowly starting to recover from his bout of awkwardness. The captain chuckled again. "I wish I could keep the two of you."
