“You did?” She looked over at him with curiosity and smiled, “Why didn’t you become a musician then? You’re talented.” Sinking down to the deck, she pulled her knees up and rested her head on top of them.

@WriteOutofTime

He remained smiling, but his eyes took on a distant look. "I don't know. I guess I never had the opportunity. Maybe someday I'll do that."

@gracehustle

She nodded, resting her head back and looking up at the very blue sky, “If you do, tell me and I’ll be sure to come to at least hear one of your songs, though probably more.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Aww, that'd be nice," he said with a grin. "What about you? Any far flung dreams?"

@gracehustle

A small smile crossed her face and she shrugged, “A few, though my innocent young self made them up so they’re probably not possible anymore.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Aw c'mon, I want to hear them!" he urged.

@gracehustle

She laughed and glanced over at him, “You're sure you want to hear these ideas?” Andrea waited until he nodded in response before continuing, a slightly embarrassed smile on her face, “Well, one of the oldest ones I remember is I wanted to be a queen and run a kingdom. It was preferably colorful but my young mind wasn’t really picky, I just wanted to be a Queen.”

@WriteOutofTime

"I can see it!" he said, waving his hands around excitedly. "A great castle and a magnificent people for you to rule. You'll be their kind and fearless leader, devoted to her people like no other queen before her. And then sometimes I can visit and be your court jester, there to sing and make you laugh after the stress of ruling a kingdom!"

@gracehustle

His excitement made her laugh and her cheeks took on a light pink tinge, half jokingly suggesting ideas for the kingdom that probably wouldn’t even happen, “You wouldn’t be a jester, you’d be a royal musician, able to visit whenever. With your own room in my magnificent castle and whatever you wanted.” Her eyes sparkled and she shrugged, “You’d have to visit at least once a year, with amazing stories to tell or songs to sing.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Royal musician," he said with a grin. He clapped his hands together. "Alright! So our first order of business on this grand adventure is to find you a kingdom to run. I guess we'll have to find one that's kinda unstable, so you can impose your will."

@gracehustle

She laughed and waved a hand dismissively, “The kingdom can wait for now, I want to explore the world a little more and maybe scout out the potential kingdoms for me to possibly assume power over.”

@WriteOutofTime

"That can be our end goal then," he agreed with a nod. "We'll enjoy the journey, scope out towns and kingdoms fit for a queen –and then later, when we've seen the whole world, we'll settle on one for you."

@gracehustle

Her eyes were bright and she nodded, “We have to make sure it’s easily accessible for you, I don’t want to have you walking through mountain ranges to get to the castle or any of the villages.”

@WriteOutofTime

"And the climate has to be nice," he mused, nodding his agreement at her statement. "It can't be too hot, but it also can't be snowing all the time. I think that would get old fast."

@gracehustle

“By the water would be a plus too, both for trade and because it would look nice,” She added, looking around the ship as she thought of anything else that she wanted or would like in a kingdom of her own. It was nice not having to work at the moment, she enjoyed talking with Daso much better, especially since she hadn’t been able too for a whole week in the brig.

@WriteOutofTime

"I love the sea," he said excitedly. "Plus it could be a fishing village. I love seafood." He noticed her looking around and followed her gaze, admiring the spotless deck. "She cleans up nice, doesn't she? The ship, I mean."

@gracehustle

She nodded, smiling lightly, “She does clean up nice, did you do all of this? Just in the past week?” Looking back at him, she smiled, “A kingdom on the water would be nice, and some seafood is better than others without question.”

@WriteOutofTime

"You are indeed looking at my handiwork," he grinned, still admiring the ship. "What types of seafood do you like? I'll eat just about anything."

@gracehustle

“Really anything except clams and mussels, though fish is my favorite,” She said, looking around the ship again with another smile, “And I’ll say this, you really did an amazing job cleaning, its spotless.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Thank ya," he said with a bow, "I tried my hardest. You know what, I might find myself a nice crew and become their musician. We could travel around, and our main port would be your fishing village kingdom. We'll feast on fish and I'll entertain your court."

@gracehustle

Her eyes brightened and she nodded, “You and your crew would be allowed whenever in the port and in the kingdom, special orders from the queen.” Andrea relaxed back and imagined what her dream kingdom would look like, with a grand view of the sea along with mountains and trees and rolling hills farther into the kingdom.

@WriteOutofTime

"So, would you rule alone? Or would you have a, I don't know, board of rulers?" he started brainstorming the politics. "Maybe a council? Hopefully you'll never have to fight any wars. You'd win, of course, but wars are so tragic."

@gracehustle

“I don’t really know? Ruling alone sounds fun but then being overthrown is easier, councils mean backstabbing and corruption, so I don’t really know.” She shrugged, “That’s the hard part of ruling/“

@WriteOutofTime

He waved a hand. "You don't have to think about that yet. The most important part is finding the kingdom. Details can come after."

@gracehustle

She nodded, a small smile on her face as she went back to imagining what she wanted her kingdom to look like, her castle especially, “Yeah, I suppose, now we just gotta find a good kingdom for me to take over.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Yep, in two days we can begin the search," he smiled. Then his eyes narrowed. "You know, I just realized I have no idea where we're docking. I never thought to ask."

@gracehustle

She waved a hand dismissively, “It doesn’t really matter to me where we dock, as long as it’s not the way north in the snow I’ve heard about or in the middle of a desert.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Smart," he agreed. "Although I wouldn't mind snow for a little while. Just to see what it looks like, ya know?"

@gracehustle

Andrea nodded, trying to imagine the white snow she’d only heard about in stories from travelers. It was supposed to be very cold and pure white, with little tiny flakes that melted on your hand. “Yeah, seeing this snow with my own two eyes would be quite fun. I’ve heard you can find it on top of mountains too, maybe we could just climb one of those to see it.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Mountains would be cool," he agreed. "Though I think the air's supposed to be thin on mountains or something."
