He sighed, and played a heart. He didn't have any spades left. Hadn't for a while. He was still losing by…a shitton of points. He wasn't sure exactly how many.

@MusicElle-is-here

Allie frowned and took the pile, playing a mid-range heart this time. She looked at Logan as if trying to read his mind, a feat she knew would never work, obviously.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He sighed as he played a high heart, taking both cards. He threw down his last card, a diamond.

@MusicElle-is-here

All Allie had left was a high heart, so she smirked as she put it down. She was fairly certain she had just won.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He groaned, taking the card. "Count your points." He grumbled. "But I lost." He made a face at her.

Allie beamed at him, the picture of happiness for a moment as she gloated teasingly. She was glad she had won, because she could be a sore loser sometimes. “I guess I’m just awesome at cards,” she bragged, more jokingly than anything.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Logan rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I guess so." He replied with a sigh. "That or I'm just out of practice." He grinned, and collected the cards up.

Allie laughed. “Whatever you have to tell yourself, sweetheart.” She looked at him curiously. “What should we play next?”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He blinked at her use of the word "sweetheart", and shrugged a little. "I don't know. What do you want to play?" he asked, looking at her.

@MusicElle-is-here

“Have you ever played Egyptian Rat Screw?” she asked, her eyes lighting up. She used to play that game all the time, especially in high school.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Uhm…no, can't say I have." He replied, blinking. "I don't think I've ever even heard of it."

@MusicElle-is-here

“Oh, you poor, deprived child,” Allie groaned dramatically. “I’ll teach you how to play! So we split the deck in half and put our cards in a stack, face down.” She took the cards and demonstrated. “Then we each play one card at a time, keeping it face down until we set it in the middle, gradually forming a pile.” She set down her top card, a four.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Logan nodded slowly, watching her. "Okay…" He frowned slightly as he watched, resting his chin on his hand.

@MusicElle-is-here

“Now you play a card,” she instructed, tilting her chin at him. “And if it’s a number card, we keep going. If it’s face card, I’ll explain what to do next.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He played a card slowly, looking at her. "Like this?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.

@MusicElle-is-here

Allie nodded. “Yep, now I’ll play another one,” she narrated, placing down the jack of spades. “Okay, so when it’s a face card you get a certain amount of chances to play another face card before you lose the deck. In this game you want all the cards. Anyway, with a jack you only get one chance to put down a face card.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He raised his eyebrows. "That's…a bit strange." He replied. "But…do I put another card down now, or what?" he asked, looking at her.

@MusicElle-is-here

“Yeah, it’s your turn,” Allie replied with a smirk. This game wasn’t strange at all to her since she’d been playing for years.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He put a card down, making a face. "This game is weird." He protested, looking at her and still making a face.

@MusicElle-is-here

Allie giggled. “Well now I get the deck, since you put down a number card. Now I get to start again, because I won that round.” She laid down another number card.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He sighed. "This game makes no sense!" He exclaimed, putting down a number card again.

@MusicElle-is-here

“You’ll get the hang of it eventually,” Allie assured him with a grin, setting down another number card. “Now your turn again.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He rolled his eyes, giving a heavy sigh as he played another card. A number one. "If you say so."

@MusicElle-is-here

Allie giggled. “Trust me.” She set down yet another number card, looking back at Logan to signal it was his turn now.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Logan raised an eyebrow, and played a face card. He sighed softly, raising an eyebrow at her.

@MusicElle-is-here

“So since you played a king, I have three tries to play a face card,” Allie said, slowly placing a two on top, followed by an ace. “Now you go. An ace is four chances.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded, and played one card, then another, then another. The third was a queen.

@MusicElle-is-here

“That gives me two chances,” she explained, putting down a nine and a ten. She sighed. “Okay, you get that deck.” She pushed it toward him. “And you start next.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He took it, then hesitantly played a card. It was a ten. Nothing special. He looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Like that?"

@MusicElle-is-here

Allie nodded. “Exactly like that,” she replied, playing a queen. “Queen is two chances,” she reminded him.
