"Not if I don't have to, then no. Never." She smiled a little and kissed his cheek.
๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ช๐ฝ๐ฎ ๐ก๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ช๐ฌ๐ด๐ผ!
"That's good. I have no problem being close to you if you aren't going to kill me."
"I mean, I could." She flipped a small dagger from out of her sleeve. "But I won't." She flipped the dagger back, a slight smile on her lips.
Sterling blinked when she flipped the dagger out. "Well, thanks. I greatly appreciate it."
"My pleasure." Her smile softened slightly. "Don't look so scared, I'd never hurt you. I promise."
"I'm not scared, Cass," Sterling chuckled. "Just a bit surprised."
"Oh, I should probably point this out. If any random person comes up to you and asks for Adrianna, they're looking for me. Do. Not. Tell. Them. Where. I. Am. Unless you want me to die cause it's a spy from an enemy out to kill me."
Sterling raised an eyebrow and nodded slowly. "Okayโฆ Good to knowโฆ"
"Yeah, being a teen assassin really isn't as fun as it seems."
"I do not doubt that," Sterling said, glancing up to see that they were nearing her cabin. "Wellโฆ I suppose this is goodnight. Until midnight, that is."
"I suppose it is." She tugged him down into a final goodnight kiss before heading into her cabin.
Sterling chuckled as she walked away. "Good night to you, too," he called after her.
She paused at the cabin door and looked back at him with a smile. "Night love." She winked before heading inside.
Sterling shook his head in amusement before he turned and walked toward his own cabin. She was a cool girl, that was for sure.
She slipped into her bed, relaxing into the sheets. As comfortable as this is, it'd be comfier in his arms. She shook her head to clear her thoughts. He was addictive like a fast acting poison, consuming her thoughts without hesitation.
Sterling laid in his bed, sighing as he looked up at the ceiling. Unable to forget the feeling of her lips on his, he ran his tongue over them a few times, savoring the feeling.
She couldn't sleep, though she did try. Every time she closer her eyes, she was slammed back into the memory of him kissing her. His mouth on hers, his arms around her waist, it was like a ghost that haunted her.
I am so done forโฆ This week is going to either go very well for me, or not so great. The mystery part, at least. Everything elseโฆ I'm sure it'll be great.
I won't let this get me off track. This mystery is my cover and I can't let it be blown. But if I happen to fall in love along the wayโฆwell they never said I couldn't.
(Skip?)
(Sure!)
A few minutes to midnight, Sterling was already out by the lake, sitting on the log he'd found earlier. He stared across it, his hands bracing him from behind on either side of himself and his legs stretched out in front of him.
Cassie snuck up behind him silently, a skill she had long since perfected, and clapped her hands over his eyes. "Guess who!"
Sterling jumped a bot when she snick up behind him before he grinned. "Hmโฆ Gee, is it Zendaya?"
"Pfff, I wish. Both that it was Zendaya and that I could sing."
Sterling chuckled and pulled her hands from his eyes, turning to quickly kiss her. "Hey, sweetheart. How'd you sleep?"
"I didn't. Couldn't. My brain wouldn't shut up. What about you?"
"Eh. 'Bout the same," Sterling said with a shrug. "Couldn't stop thinking about a certain someone."
"Oh really? Neither could I." She laid her head on his shoulder. "I'd like my thoughts back please."
"Hmโฆ No. I think I'll keep my comfy space in your mind," Sterling chuckled.
