“Mm that was smart of you.”

M laughed gently. “I am a very intelligent human-like being. Should we go downstairs?”

“If we must.” She sighed, untangling herself and sitting up.

M gave her a look. “If you don’t want to you can stay up here.”

“No lets go.” She climbed off the bed and brushed herself off.

M nodded. “Allllright. You’ll have to get something to eat, though.”

“Why though? I already ate today.”

“A healthy diet consists of three square meals, North,” M pointed out smartly.

“You and your goddamn facts.” She grumbled.

M gave a light laugh and lead the way downstairs. He whipped up something for her and set it down on the table.

“Whyyyy? I don’t want to eat.”

M patted her head. “Eat anyway.”

“But I don’t want to..” She sulked.

M glared at her. “Eat.”

“I DON’T LIKE YOU!” She yelled, eating a little.

“Cool, nice, I don’t like me either. Eat anyway.”

“I am eating. Don’t be mean to yourself.”

M sat down. “I can do whatever I want to myself.”

“Yeah but you shouldn’t.”

“Ya but I do anyway.”

“But noo. I’m eating so you have to take care of yourself.”

M rolled his eyes. “I’ll be fine.”

“Yeah like I believe you.”

M waved his hand at her and said nothing, as if trying to defuse the topic.

North shook her head. “You know I’m right.”

“You may be but I’m not going to admit it.” M picked up his book.

“Oohoohoo I am right.” She grinned.

M put his legs up on the chair and read his book in silence.

North giggled a little and finished eating what she wanted.

M stayed in his silence, humming softly. He flipped the pages of his book, reading it for the umpteenth time.
