Autumn bit her tongue hard and let out an exclamation of surprise. She groaned and buried her head in her arms, which were crossed on top of the table. She was just plain miserable right now…
mOth GIRL COME MORROW I WANT ANOTHER RP WITH YOU
(Oof)
Alex dozed fitfully. He wanted the butterfly dream to come back. He wanted to giggle and be happy.
(She's upset… She legitimately thinks she did something wrong.)
Autumn's tongue was sore, now. How could she eat cereal with a sore tongue? And she didn't want to go back to the room in case she'd upset Alex… So she just sat there, head in her arms, and tried to calm down.
Alex sighed and glanced at her empty spot. He wanted to call for her, tell her to collapse back into the bed. He wondered if that'd be too creepy of him and decided not to.
Autumn sat up with a groan and glanced in the direction of the bedroom. She wanted to go back – she really, really wanted to – but would Alex want her to? With a sigh, she walked over to the couch and curled up on it.
Alex sat up a little. “Autumn?” He called out. He didn’t want to be alone.
Autumn almost fell off the couch in shock when Alex called for her. She made her way to the bedroom, biting her lip as she stood in the doorway.
"Yeah, babe?" she asked softly.
Alex gave her a sad look and stuck his arms out for her. “C’mere.”
Autumn took a deep breath and crawled into the bed with him, burying her face in his shoulder.
"I'm sorry," she choked out. She didn't know what she was sorry for, but, "I'm sorry…"
Alex wrapped his arms and legs around her and pulled her close. Alex didn’t even know what happened, but he felt bad.
Autumn took a few deep breaths, her face still buried in Alex's shoulder. She wrapped her own arms around him, hugging him tight.
She'd just felt like he was upset with her, but she didn't know what he was upset about. He hadn't really responded to her when she's tried to talk to him earlier, so she'd thought he'd been ignoring her.
Alex wasn’t upset, nor ignoring her. He was tired and out-of-it. He relaxed into her with a yawn and started to rub her back.
But, of course, with the lack of communication, Autumn didn't know that. Not then, and not now. Though she was beginning to wonder if he'd just been sleeping again…
Alex kissed her cheek. “I’m sorry, baby. Sorry I upset you.”
"It's not your fault," Autumn said, her voice barely at a whisper.
Alex leaned his head close to hers. “Yeah it was.”
Autumn shook her head a little, avoiding meeting his eyes. "It was my fault, not yours."
Alex sighed softly and shook his head. “It wasn’t, but okay.” He shut his eyes, his lashes brushing her face.
"We should just… forget about it… Pretend it never happened…" Autumn suggested softly. His eyelashes tickled a little, and it made her lips quirk up slightly.
Alex opened his eyes again. The lashes tickled her again. “Would you like that?”
"Yeah. That'd be great," Autumn said, nodding a bit.
Alex nodded a bit with her. “Okay. Let’s do that, then.”
"M'kay," Autumn sighed, kissing him on the nose.
Alex fell silent, his gaze averted to looking over her shoulder tiredly. It was too early and he too hungry to try and fix what happened.
"Do you want to go back to sleep?" Autumn asked quietly, resting her head on his shoulder.
Alex shrugged. “Nah. It’s early but I’m awake, now.”
"How about some breakfast, then?" Autumn suggested, giving him a small smile.
Aled sighed softly and nodded. “That sounds good.” He glaned at her with a slight grin.
"Well, c'mon, then sleepyhead. Let's go," Autumn chuckled, sliding out of bed.
Alex whined softly. “But I wanna stay here and snuggle, too.”
