Gray pressed a kiss to her head again.

"If you like the crunchy bread, grab the ones at the top," he said. "If you like soft, the bottom ones are for you."

"Bottom it is…" Violeta muttered, unaware of the hidden connotation behind her words as she reached for a fluffier piece.

Eden stared at Sterling for a few seconds before a smile made its way to her lips.

"I'd be most pleased if you did," she replied, twirling her hair around her finger. "Thank you, my love."

Gray smirked, trying to keep his laughter in check.

"Well, doesn't surprise me…" he muttered, loud enough for her to hear as a reply.

Violeta paused, confusion flickering across her face, before—Oh. Oh. Her face burned, turning a deep shade of crimson. "Gray!"

Gray finally burst out laughing, shaking his head.

"Yes, love?" he teased. "Do eat to your heart's content."

“You’re a bad person….” she muttered under her breath, turning to bury her face in his shoulder.

(chokes on air Violay… You're killin me… My word…)

Sterling smiled at his fiancée, leaning down to peck her lips before he picked a fork up and put some food on it. He lifted it to her lips, murmuring, "As you wish."

Eden slowly opened her mouth, peering at Sterling through her lashes. She bit down on the fork, taking the food before pulling away and slowly chewing on it.

"It's good…" she murmured, her hand touching her mouth.

“You’re a bad person….” she muttered under her breath, turning to bury her face in his shoulder.

Gray laughed, grinning cheekily.

"You asked for it, love."

“Bully….” Violeta muttered into his shirt. “I’ll get you back for this…”

Gray grinned.

"I'm sure you will, love, I'm sure you will…"

Eden, not noticing the look on Sterling's face, nodded slowly.

"Of course you can," she murmured. "It's really good."

Still blushing, Violeta extracted herself from Gray’s embrace in order to eat a few bites of food. “D’you think Sterling and Eden would mind if I sat in your lap?” she added as an offhand, ‘nonchalant’, and ‘innocent’ comment.

Eden froze, her lips tingling, eyes wide. Then slowly, her face began to heat up until it resembled a cherry.

"Ster…sterling!" she smacked him on the arm, face incredibly red. "That wasn't–that wasn't what I meant!"

Gray quirked an eyebrow at his girlfriend.

"I'm sure they wouldn't mind even if we were making out," he replied. "Seeing as the engaged man is busy doing that himself."

She hid her face in his chest, eyes squeezed shut. Good lord, she was going to die one day, and only because this man wanted to surprise her!

"You are such a tease…" she grumbled. "Why do you have to do these things in public?"

“Maybe so,” Violeta chuckled, pressing her nose into the crook of Gray’s neck. “Do you want me to sit in your lap?”

"Do you even need to ask?" Gray muttered, already resting his hand on her waist.

“I want to hear you say it.”

Over time, she’d learned to be much more adventurous, slowly easing into the rhythm of his flirtations and responding with matched energy.

Gray's lips twisted into a smile and he leaned closer to Violeta's ear.

"Well, then…" he whispered. "Would you mind taking a seat in my lap, sweetheart?"

Eden blushed again, trying to fight it off, but the wink only made it worse. Sterling tapped her lips again with the fork and she slowly took another bite, looking at him as she chewed.

"Are you going to taste this, too, Sterling?"

Violeta’s breath hitched. Gray’s warm breath brushed across her ear, stirring the crosshatching of hairs beside it, bringing her already-pounding heart to a cacophonous crescendo. But after a moment, she complied, her face crimson as she slid into her boyfriend’s lap.

Gray wrapped his arms around Violeta’s waist the second she slid onto his lap, resting his chin on her forehead, determined to make her as flustered as possible.

“Comfortable?”

Eden’s heart hammered in her chest, but she smiled bashfully at her fiancée.

“Shouldn’t you?” She breathed out. “You need to eat, too, after all.”

“V-Very much so,” Violeta stammered, wrapping her hands around his wrists and tightening the hold he had on her.

Gray chuckled, pressing a kiss on her neck.

"Well, now that I'm busy holding you…" he murmured. "It's your job to feed me."

Violeta’s eyes widened almost imperceptibly. But her hand was moving before she could get control of it, spearing a bite of chicken on her fork and holding it to Gray’s lips.
