"So I guess I can't bring my own?" Nathaniel followed V outside.

"I don't think they'd be opposed to it." V said with a shrug.
"Alright. We'll have to make a pit stop at a nearby cave, then. Are we going by car or what?"
V tilted his head "cave? Uhm I can drive us there."
Nathaniel nodded. "I'll guide you." Once they got into the car, Nathaniel directed V to a cave about ten minutes away and got out of the car. "It's a lot quicker getting here by car…" He went in and within a minute or two came back out with a handcrafted sword.
V waited in the car and ran a hand through his hair. He glanced up when Nathaniel came out "wow, please tell me that has a name…"
"Ben." Nathaniel said with a straight face before laughing. "Actually, Benevolence for irony, and Ben so it's funny."
V laughed, unlocking the car "you've been beaten by Ben, I'm guessing is a joke?" He laughed again and drove off towards the sparing place
Nathaniel nodded. "It's also a very underwhelming sword name." He ran one hand along the sword's blade. It was beautifully crafted, just like the dagger.
"might want to keep that down until we get to the place. I'm not getting pulled over just for having a sword in my car."V said, "how long have you been forging swords?"
"Pretty long. Probably started around seven or eight." Nathaniel moved the sword so it wasn't visible from the outside.
(Also, we never actually clarified how old they are in this. I've been thinking like, late teens, early twenties)

"Wow, what inspired you to start?" He asked, knowing he was being nosy again but liking the small talk more than silence
Nathaniel shrugged. "Saw someone doing it and figured it'd be fun. Turns out, I'm actually pretty good at it."
V nodded "did apprentice in swordsmanship? Or did you learn by yourself?"
"I'm self taught, although I did a lot of watching. Most of my early blades weren't usable. It's really a lot of trial and error."
"that's cool, do you make any other weapons? Like bows and arrows?"
"I have before, yeah. They're not as good though. I'm better with metal than wood." Nathaniel watched out the window.
V nodded again, feeling the con ersation for now taking a silent turn
"Did you ever try to make weapons when you were younger?"
He shook his head "no, but I've always had a facination with them."
"Hmm… I remember my parents weren't too fond of the hobby, but I didn't really care. People actually paid for some of them."
He smiled softly "so you were a rebellious child?"
"More or less. It was really just that." Nathaniel hummed softly, watching cars pass them on all sides.
He laughed softly "I can see you as a rebellious kid."
Nathaniel shrugged. "I did get kicked out of heaven, so there's that."
"the ultimate rebellious act an angel can do." V drove for a few for miles before finally getting the place "ready to out that sword to the test?"
"Yep! Let's go destroy some humans! Er, figuratively of course." Nathaniel got out of the car and went into the place, sword in hand.
V laughed and shook his head "who said we're we're fighting other people?" He asked with atilt of his head
"I thought you did? What am I sparring against?" Nathaniel glanced over at V, confused.
"me." V replied, heading into the place
