"Probably a fight or something. They always seem to break out about now." Chesh explained.
One on one?
"Mm." she hummed. "Not surprised." she said absentmindedly. "Who's the most fighty like?" she asked.
(bump?)
(Sorry! Life's been using me as a punching bag recently.)
Chesh looked around the ship and hummed. "Probably Jake to be honest with you. Jake gets pretty dumb when he's drunk." She said, a smile spreading across her face. "One time he got into a fight because he got mad that he was captain."
(it's alright!)
Jemi giggled. "He's not dangerous, though, right?" Jake seemed like a good man. A good Captain. Not like her. She managed to get captured and although she was being treated well, she was still imprisoned. There was still a cell for her.
Chesh shook her head. "Nah. He usually just yells a lot and everybody tells him to calm down. Barely any fights happen on this ship anyways. But when they do their more fun than they are dangerous." Chesh explained.
"Okay." Jemi replied. She was beginning to feel more and more tired. She leaned herself into Chesh more and muttered, "You're comfy.~"
Chesh chuckled as she wrapped her arms around Jemi. "You are too." She said hugging her.
Jemi smiled and then yawned. "I'm tiiirreeddd." she cried. "I think I'm just gonna take nap." she said as her eyes closed and her breathing became steady.
Chesh pulled Jemi closer to her chest. "Rest." She said as she pet her head. God. What am I going to do with her?
Jemi sighed softly while her head drooped slightly. She was soon fast asleep and snuggled comfortable in Chesh's arms.
Chesh chuckled and picked Jemi up bridal style. She carried her below deck and into the sleep quarters and set her in Chesh's hammock. She carefully pushed a strand of hair that was in Jemi's face out of the way. Chesh smiled. God. When I fall for someone I just fall for the wrong person.
(Bump?)
Jemi woke in the middle of the night confused. She didn't recognize the walls that surrounded her, nor the figures snoring quietly in the dark. She sat up and looked around seeing hammocks. Oh… She realized she was in the sleeping quarters of the pirate ship. Wait what happened to her cell? And Chesh? she wondered.
(Sorry!! Life's been kicking me in the butt!)
"Heya!~" Chesh said from the ceiling, right above Jemi. She didn't want to bother Jemi once she fell asleep so she just decided she was going to lay up there. She had already done the night shift and just couldn't go to sleep.
Jemi groaned softly, "Wha…? Chesh?" she asked softly. She could make out the figure above her and saw Chesh. She looked at her. "Am I in the sleeping quarters?" she said. "Wait. Am I in your hammock?"
"Yeah. I was guessing that you didn't want to sleep in the cell and it easier to keep an eye on you like this. Plus, you needed to sleep off some of the alcohol." She explained. "How much do you remember?" She asked.
Jemi looked at her confused. "Whoa, whoa, whoa- how much alcohol did I have? I don't remember much at all." The last thing she remembered was talking with Chesh. But she couldn't remember what it was they had been talking about. She looked around and at herself. She was filthy. Her hands found her way trying to fiddle with her necklace, before realizing it wasn't there. "I- Wha-? Where is my necklace??"
Chesh thought about it. "I think you had 2 or 3 bottles of rum. And I have no idea where your necklace is. What's it look like?"
Jemi looked at Chesh blankly. "My- my necklace. It has a blue gem in the middle and I-" Jemi took a deep breath to clear her head. Her head still felt fuzzy. She needed that necklace back.
"Calm down! You probably left it in the cell or something. When did you last have it?" Chesh asked.
(Is it ok that Chesh took it or did you have somewhere to go with this?)
(Yes that works. I was thinking one of the pirates since, well, they're pirates and the necklace looks somewhat valuable lol)
"I- I don't know. I can't remember!" Jemi cried. Her memory of everything was too fuzzy for her to be sure of anything, "Someone must've taken it. You are pirates after all." she said, her voice only getting louder, A part of her told her to calm down, but the necklace was important. The most important thing she owned.
"Calm down! It's probably in your cell. It is not a good idea to wake the crew in the middle of the night unless you want to be thrown overboard." She said as she floated down to the ground. She fiddled with Jemi's necklace inside her pant pocket. "Why is it so important anyway?" She asked.
"It just is! I need to find it. I need to find it." Jemi repeated again and again. The necklace was her safe thing. Her grandmother had given it to her so so long ago, when she first showed signs of water abilities. Now that she was gone, the necklace was the last thing of hers. And it belonged to Jemi.
"Alright! Alright! I'll go look in the cell. Calm down." Chesh said as she walked out of the room. She walked down to the cells and into the cell Jemi had been in. "I wonder where it could be." She said taking the necklace out of her pocket and studying it.
(Bump?)
(Ack I'm sorry!)
"Fine!" Jemi hopped down and made her way loudly to the cell. She ambled down the stairs and looked around in the empty cell. There wasn't really anywhere it could be. "Help me find it!" she ordered Chesh.
Chesh let it dangle in front of her. "This one~?" She said with a smirk, letting it swing side to side. "I feel like I've seen this before. Where did you get it?" She asked, looking it over.
Jemi looked wide eyed at her necklace. "Yes. That one. Where did you find it?" she said fiercely. You're on a pirate ship. Chesh is a pirate. She reminded herself. Why had she let herself be vulnerable? Jemi wondered. She grabbed for the necklace. "And it's none of your business where I got it."
