"I don't doubt it. I mean, Thomas McCarthy."
(I was getting sort of a tom holland vibe from him, lol)

"If you let him speak long enough, you'll never get him to stop," Kara warned. "He could speak for days about Thomas. He's his idol."
"I'm sure some of your donuts can quiet him for a little while," P.J remarked, taking another bite of her donut.
Jason smiled and stuffed his face with donuts again, and Kara laughed a bit. "Still, don't say I didn't warn you."
“I’ll keep that in mind,” P.J giggled, nudging Jason.
"Can I take some for the road?" He asked through a mouthful of donut.
"Oh, yeah, ditto on that." P.J grabbed her jacket, looking hopefully up at Kara.
(does Jason already know that P.J is trans?)
(no…but he's probably started to piece it together)
Kara sighed, smiling. "Of course I can." She walked into the back room and brought a box back out. "You paying or you expecting me too?"
(ah ok)
"I've got it…" P.J rummaged in her pocket. "I've got a couple dollars here somewhere."
"I got it," Jason said, pulling a 50 out of his pocket. "You can keep the extra, Aunt Kara."
P.J grinned at Jason. "Thanks. I didn't really have that much."
(bye for now gtg)
"I always have money to spare," He said sheepishly, not wanting to seem like he was being braggy.
"You're fine." P.J nudged him again. "It's not like your're going on gigantic shopping sprees for things you don't need."
"Well, yeah," He agreed. "I know you don't like those things. Plus, the press will think I'm taking advantage of my career, which I'm not."
"Oh, I know you're not. You don't have to worry about that with me." She hopped off her stool. "Thank you so much, Kara, the donuts were amazing!"
"You're welcome!" Kara chimed.
"Yeah, thanks Aunt Kara!" Jason agreed. "Anyway, we should go. It's late."
"Okay." She took his hand. "Is this okay?"
He kissed her on the forehead. "Of course it's OK. It's always OK."
She smiled up at him. “Thank you.”
As they walked out, all of the paparazzi turned on them. Jason, used to this, kept pushing forward.
"Shoot," P.J grumbled, making sure not to lose Jason's hand as he powered through the crowd.
He tightened his grip on P.J.'s hand, making sure that she couldn't possibly be lost.
Eventually, they pushed through all the crowds and ended up in a side road where not much was going on. P.J walked closer to Jason. "Thanks over there."
"You kinda get used to it after a few years," He replied sheepishly. "But you're welcome."
She squeezed his hand. “Where to now?”
Jason was about to answer, but at that moment it decided to rain. "Want to just enjoy this moment?" He asked, water starting to drip down his hair."
P.J nodded, grinning up at him. Her short hair fell down her face, wet and dripping, but on a smiling face.
It didn't take long before they were soaked, but neither of them really cared. They were in each other's company, and that was all that mattered.
P.J smiled to herself, then up at him as she jumped to press a light kiss to his cheek.
