Grayson helped her up. “Yeah I can’t wait to-“ He pulled Jasmine through the window and yelped quietly as he fell backwards onto the bed, staring up at her in shock.
Outside (O/O closed, stalkers welcome :)
Jasmine heaved up into the room, “Oh! Woah, Are you okay?” She steadied herself and reached out a hand to help him.
Grayson nodded quickly and scrambled to his feet, rushing to brush his hair back over the half healed cut on his forehead. “Yeah, I’m fine,” he muttered quietly.
“Okay..What happened to your forehead?” She retracted her hand when he didn’t take it.
“Nothing. It’s nothing.” Grayson sat down cross legged on the bed and gestured for her to sit down if she wanted. Lee crawled over to him and hid behind his back.
Jass sank down onto his bed, “So..you’re locked in your room?” She scanned around the room, analyzing how he decorated it. How someone keeps their room tells a lot about the person. At least she’d read that before.
“Pretty much. And you’re grounded?” His room was fairly neat. He had a wide variety of art around his room and a bookshelf in the corner. It was small, but he didn’t mind. Lee slipped out from behind him and crawled into his lap, gazing up curiously at Jasmine.
“Yeah…technically grounded. They’re still thinking of the details, they said.” She shrugged, “Saving a friend from their jail-cell-bedroom seems like a pretty good excuse to take before they officially say I can’t leave the house outside of school. Don’t you think?” Her eyes fell down to Lee, “Adorable.” She grinned.
Grayson laughed quietly and nodded. “Yeah..great idea. Why are you doing this again?” He asked softly, leaning down and kissing Lee behind his ear, avoiding looking up at Jasmine. Lee purred and rubbed his face against Grayson’s cheek.
“Because I want to help…and I know we’ve only known each other for a day, but I care about you.” She kept looking at Lee, biting the corner of her lip in nervousness. What if he didn’t want help?”
“Oh—you..really?” He asked, glancing up at her as Lee crawled forward and nuzzled his face against Jasmine’s leg.
“Well, Yeah..” she pet Lee’s head with a couple fingers, “Your cat is adorable, can you bring him with you?”
Grayson shrugged and smiled softly. “Yeah he basically follows me everywhere, not that I have anywhere to go..but,” he shrugged again, petting Lee lazily.
“Aww, sweet kitty.” She smiled, “So..when do you want to leave?” She didn’t stand up from the bed, but she looked to his face, “It would be best if I wasn’t gone from home for too long.”
"Yeah we can leave now if you want. I..just um..how am I going to get back?" He asked slowly as Lee casually jumped down from the bed and flopped over on the floor.
“Hm…” she scratched her lip, “Can you get through the back door or window or something?” She tilted her head, “My dad might have some lock picking tools.”
"How the hell would you explain to your dad that you need lock picking tools?" Grayson laughed softly, leaning back with a sigh.
Jasmine shrugged and laughed, “I guess, but..who knows, maybe he’ll have a soft spot for you after you meet him and he’ll even help us get you into your house.”
"But.." Grayson looked down, fidgeting nervously with the hem of his shirt, "If we…if we talk to your dad then he'll ask about why I couldn't get out of my room in the first place and then they'll probably arrest my dad because of course they would..and I'm stuck here..forever," he finished, staring down at his hands.
“My dad wouldn’t let that happen..you wouldn’t be stuck here.” She stood up from the bed, “You would be safe.”
"No..it's..it's more complicated than that," he said, glancing up at her when she got off the bed.
“What do you mean?” She tilted her head, genuinely interested, “Don’t you want to get out of here for good?”
"Yeah..but uh.." he paused for a second, thinking. "Okay, you know when you look up your name online and it comes up with like..your school and maybe your parents? Well..there are no records of me..anywhere. I don't have a birth certificate. I have no form of identification anywhere. The only proof of me existing is..my..physical myself."
“Oh….oh, wow.” She blinked, “How does that…even happen?” She sat back down on the bed, taken off guard by all of this—But no less ready to help him.
“Careful planning and a lot of secrets,” Grayson muttered, wincing slightly as his hand brushed against the cut on his forehead on the way to push his hair back.
“But…why? Are you illegal or something?” She squinted, more confused than anything, “I mean we don’t have to tell my dad anything.”
“What I have told you is everything I know about myself and my past.” Grayson said, looking up at her hesitantly.
“Okay…wow.” She rubbed her neck with a hand, “That’s strange, but..doesn’t change that I care about you.”
“But I—I don’t get it. I’m not..anyone..” he replied, slightly confused himself.
“Yes you are!” She suddenly snapped, “You’re Grayson. You’re here and talking to me, you have a cat! That’s somebody and someone who deserves friends.”
