Felix smiled for himself. Another victory. Not that he had done anything himself to win it, but still. It was nice having something turning out as he wanted for once. He grabbed his keys, mumbling a quick "Sorry" to the girl before heading towards the elevator.
Paris (o/o, closed but stalkers are welcome)
The girl shot him a quick glare when she thought she was out of his sight, then turned to get the key 237, “Thank you, sir..” she sighed, leaning down to pick up her things and walk to the elevator. He could have at least offered to take the smaller room, she pouted.
As Felix got into the elevator, he felt kind of mean. It was just… he really wanted that room. As the doors started closing, he saw the girl whos room he had stolen. She carried a lot of bags, and he hesitated for a second before holding the doors to the elevator for her. He hated those awkward elevator rides with strangers, but… it was the least he could do.
Faye blinked and stepped inside, “Oh, thank you.” When she got settled enough she spoke, “It’s Felix, right?” Maybe he wasn’t as rude as she thought him just a few seconds before.
"Yeah." Felix wasn't in the mood to talk right now, but he had to at least try to be nice. "Sorry I stole your room. What's your name?"
“It’s fine..” she dismissed, “And I’m Faye.” She lifted a hand to scratch the nape of her neck, “It’s just been a long day.”
"Can't argue with that," Felix mumbled. He looked over at the girl. She was… somewhat attractive. "What brings you to Paris?"
Faye glanced back, “I just wanted out of my hometown. Everything just seemed so…familiar. I needed something new for a while.” She pushed a bag farther up her shoulder, “You?”
"I'd rather not tell. Let's just say… my family are not very nice people." Felix made a grimace. "And I have always wanted to come here, anyways. Paris has always seemed so… free, if you get what I mean. It feels like freedom."
She nodded, “Yeah, that makes sense. Paris has interested me too, I studied French in high school and my class took a trip here my senior year.” She half smiled and looked down, “I wanted to go, but that didn’t work out.”
"I don't speak a single word french." Felix smirked at her. "Oh, wait. That's actually not true, I know one word. Baguette." A crooked smile.
“Oh?” She raised an eyebrow and laughed, “Oui, oui, mon petite baguette!” She turned her head back to the doors when the elevator ding-ed their arrival to the second floor.
Felix smiled a bit behind her back. "I can carry a bag for you if you want. I mean, right now we are neighbours anyways." He blushed a tiny bit.
She stepped to the side beside the elevator to let him out, “If you would that would be wonderful, thank you.” She handed him a couple of her smaller bags.
Felix took them. "Wow. These are heavy. What do you have in there, bricks?"
“Hah, it’s just a bunch of medicine and…beauty things.” Faye answered, “Sorry I gave you the heavy ones but those were the ones hurting my arms.” She chuckled.
"It's okay." Felix smiled. "As you can see, I am one muscular guy," he joked. He was getting in a better mood now.
That only made her laugh more while she pulled her suitcase down the hall, “As I can see. You obviously work out.”
"Mhm. Totally," Felix smirked, happy with that he made her laugh. He sheepishly walked behind her with the bags.
Faye set down the suit case in front of 237 while she used the key to unlock the door. She opened it, revealing a pretty standard one bed apartment bedroom with a fridge, stove top, television and small table all in one room. The bathroom sat right behind the front door.
“Well, this looks cozy,” Faye stepped inside, placing her suitcase beside the bed.
"It's small." Felix felt even worse about stealing the room now that he had seen Faye's room. He quickly unlocked his own door after placing the bags on her floor, revealing a big suite with a livingroom, bedroom and kitchen. It even had a balcony. He walked back to Faye's room.
Faye has taken a seat on the bed to look around the room some more with a smile that was barely there. She looked down to her watch, noting that it was probably time to take her medicine. The time difference threw off her schedule, so she would have to take it in the afternoons instead of the morning. Ah well, I can work around that.
Felix stood by the opening of the room. "Um… don't take this the wrong way. We barely know each other. But… you can use my livingroom if you want to. The kitchen too. I get if it's weird because we just met, but that fridge doesn't look like it could fit that much food and you have not other space. And it seems like you will be staying here longer than me anyways." He looked down. "Anyhow, it's just a suggestion."
Faye looked over at him and blinked, having not expected that, “Oh..thank you.” She smiled, “That’s very kind of you, I might take advantage of your offer once I go out to buy food later.”
He smiled. "Sure, whenever. So, um… bye for now, I guess. It was nice to meet you, Faye." He turned around, one last look at the tiny room.
“Nice to meet you too, Felix.” She waved back and kicked off her shoes to sit cross legged on the bed.
Felix walked back to his own room, opening it with his key card. The suite almost felt too big for him. What the heck… I deserve this. He threw himself on the sofa, tired.
Faye fell back on her bed with a long sigh. She toyed the idea of a nap, but after the long plane ride she couldn’t stand—let alone sleep in—this itchy wig. So after the painstakingly long time taking it off in the bathroom, she went up to rummage through her bags for her medicine. Was there a vending machine outside for water? She walked over and opened the door to peek outside for a moment. In fact, there was, just beside the elevator.
Felix wanted a snack. He wanted a donut, but he could probably not find one anywhere close so a candy bar had to do it. He walked out the corridor, remembering the vending machine. First thing he saw was a young woman. A closer look, and he realised it was Faye. He stared at her, confused. "Wow. You…" Then he remembered what she said about medicines earlier and his mind made a connection. "Ah. Right, sorry." He felt proud of himself for understanding so fast, but at the same time he felt stupid about his first reaction.
Faye looked at him like a deer in the headlights, her eyes wide with first surprise, and then embarrassment, “Shoot..” she lifted a hand up to her short hair, “I-I’m..” she thought about apologizing, but trailed off and returned to getting her drink with shaky hands.
