Cal stared at Finn wide eyed for a moment but then nodded slowly. He would never out Finn like that. "You don't have to worry, I won't tell anyone….but…w-what happens now?"
Finn shrugged. ”I'm not sure all I know is we still have a cake to decorate, ” Finn said with a half-hearted smile.

Cal laughed softly. "You wanna do the icing and ill put on designs?" He asked smiling back.
Finn nodded. ”Sure!” he said picking up the icing and butter knife.

"Sweet then!" He replied back, his soft smile still there. He looked at the cake to see what might look cute on it.
Finn iced the cake. When he was almost done he took some of the icings and booked it on Cal’s nose.

Cal opened his mouth in shock and then smiled. He took some icing and put it on Finn's nose and giggled. "Gotcha back."
Finn chuckled. Wiping the icing off his nose. ”i guess you did!” he said before finishing the cake.

"Mhm!" Cal replied back with a light giggle. He started making a random cat design on the side of the cake because well, he loved cats.
“It’s cute,” he said looking at the design. “Fo you have a cat?”

"Thank you!" He said, looking back at his his design and adding whiskers to it. "Sadly no, but i'm getting one soon!
“That’s cool! I have a cat. Shes really small even though she’s pretty old,” Finn said watching Cal work.

"Aww cute!" Cal said with a smile as he was finishing up. "There!" He showed his finished work.
”it looks adorable!” he said his smile getting wider. ”now time to eat it!”

"Thank you! And yay!" Cal went to one of the lower cabinets and pulled out two plates and forks. His thoughts now drifting back to happened earlier, since now he wasn't distracted.
“Thanks,” he said taking one of the plates and fork. He had an internal debate about if he should continue the conversation from earlier or not.

"Your welcome." He replied with a small and sweet smile. I want to talk to him about earlier but I don't want to make him uncomfortable…AHHH why is life so hard.
“Soo umm now that we’ve decorated the cake…about earlier,” he started looking around the kitchen.

Cal turned a bright red, feeling as if Finn had read his mind. "Yeah earlier…" He said quietly.
”Like I said I really like you but I think we should just be friends. If I were to date someone it would have to in secret and that wouldn't be fair to you..” he looked down at his plate not wanting to look Cal in the eyes.

Cal looked straight at him, wanting him to make eye contact. "How do y-you think I feel about you telling me this? The guy i've liked for awhile now likes me back, but I couldn't even date them if I wanted too.." He sighed. "That's not fair."
Finn looked up. ”no it's not I'm really sorry.”

Blushing at the sudden eye contact, he looked off at the side. "I-its fine I guess." Its just another heartbreak…i'll be fine..
He placed the empty plate on the counter. “I’m sorry..I should probably go,” he broke the eye contact.

Cal silently clenched his fist. I made this worse didn't I? "I-if you want too…"
Finn shrugged tapping his fingers on the counter. “We can still hang out if you want I just don’t want things to be awkward.”

"I think it's going to be awkward no matter what." Cal said with a small, pained smile. I don't want things to be awkward though…
Finn got a notification and checked her phone. “I have to go anyway but I’ll umm talk to you later,” he said backing up.

Cal nodded showing he understood. "Ok, talk to you later then." He said quietly sitting up on the counter.
