He nodded. "Usually. Last night was a storm." he replied with a shrug.

@GoblinKing

Wilhelm shuddered, thinking of the previous night’s weather. “Yeah, it was. Not my favorite, if I’m being honest.” He chuckled slightly, crossing his arms over his chest.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded a little bit. "Yeah. Ah know." He looked over at Wilhelm for a moment, then up at the sky again.

@GoblinKing

The thought of Connor deliberately staying in Wilhelm’s bed raced through his mind. Even if I was warm, he’s got blankets on his own bed. He bit his nails. Am I overthinking this? I have to be, right?

@ElderGod-Icefire

Connor closed his eyes, face tipped up to the sun's. The sun's golden rays caught on his cheeks and in his hair.

@GoblinKing

He looked over at at Connor, his heart fluttering at the sight of him. There’s no way that I can tell him he looks nice, is there? Wilhelm turned his head away again and sat up, getting his notepad back out.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Connor started to hum softly, closing his eyes. He was stretched out on the ground, face tipped to the sky contentedly.

@GoblinKing

Wilhelm began roughly sketching the plants in front of him, pressing his lips together in concentration. The drawing was crammed into one of the few empty spaces on the page, squeezed into the corner.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Connor kept humming, quiet and gentle and controlled. He folded his hands behind his head.

@GoblinKing

Wilhelm tried not to look at Connor, knowing that the lump in his throat would only grow. He instead kept his eyes flitting between the page and the plants in front of him.

@ElderGod-Icefire

After a little bit, Connor started to sing quietly. "O you take the high road, and I'll take the low road, And I'll be in Scotland afore ye, But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond."

@GoblinKing

Wilhelm looked over once he heard the singing, a weak smile on his face. He didn’t want to say anything, but Connor’s singing voice was like gold to Wilhelm, even if he didn’t want to admit it.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Connor didn't have the greatest voice, but he could sing on pitch, and that was enough. "'Twas there that we parted, in yon shady glen, On the steep, steep side of Ben Lomond, Where in soft purple hue, the hieland hills we view, And the moon coming out in the gloaming."

(Btw, the song is "Loch Lomond" and it's a traditional Scottish song. I recommend the Peter Hollens version if you wanna give it a listen)

@GoblinKing

“What’re you singing?” Wilhelm tilted his head, setting his notepad down in his lap.

(ah, thanks! i was just about to look it up, lmao)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Connor stopped, blinking his eyes open to look at Wilhelm. "Oh. 's called "Loch Lomond". It's aboot a man who went away from Scotland ta fight, an' dies, never ta return." he replied with a faint shrug.

@GoblinKing

“Oh, that’s.. cheery.” Wilhelm raised his eyebrows, tapping his fingers on the cover of his notebook.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He laughed. "Aye." He replied with a smile. "M' ma used ta sing it sometimes. After dad was…gone."

@GoblinKing

“Sure.” Wilhelm nodded. His eyes trailed away from Connor for a moment, following the path of a bug flying by. “So it’s got a meaning to you, then? Or at least some significance.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Well, yeah." He replied with a shrug. "Significance, mostly. It was… probably one o' th' last songs she sang ta me. Before…stuff happened."

@GoblinKing

He nodded solemnly. “I understand. It’s sentimental, I take it.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah. That." Connor replied. He folded his hands behind his head, swallowing softly.

@GoblinKing

Wilhelm laid back down, blocking the sun from his eyes. “Do you guess it’ll rain again today? I kind of hope so, honestly.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He shrugged. "It might. Why?" he asked, peering over at Wilhelm for a moment, then looking up at the sky again.

@GoblinKing

“..I don’t know, hah. I just feel like, you know, it’s not a storm. I haven’t appreciated the rain in a long while.” Wilhelm let out a soft, almost breathy laugh. “I don’t know.” He repeated, quieter this time.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He smiled a little bit. "You can join me outside, if 't does rain." he replied, looking at the sky.

@GoblinKing

“I just might take you up on that, actually. It might be nice.” Wilhelm folded his hands behind his head. “If it rains.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He chuckled. "Aye. We can both get sick." he sneezed.

@GoblinKing

“Ugh, right. I forgot about the whole ‘getting sick in the rain’ thing. I swear, if you’ve actually got something, you better not give it to me!” Wilhelm said, his voice playfully accusatory.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Connor sighed loudly, and laughed a little bit. "Mmph. Fine." he replied. "An' how am ah supposed to help it if ah give 't ta yeh?"

@GoblinKing

Wilhelm scoffed, rolling his eyes. “How am I supposed to know? I’m not the sick one, if you remember.”

(come on connor it’s not wil’s fault you got the plague from being outside)
