“You are so adorable,” Arvil whispered with a chuckle. “I swear.”

group

Daisy closed her mouth, cheeks blooming in pink. “Yeah, yeah…” she muttered, somewhat embarrassed about it. Of course she knew he would hear her, but she didn’t know he would say something about it…

“Hey, don’t stop,” he chuckled, nuzzling the side of her head. “Like I said, it’s adorable.”

Thankfully the music of the movie was muting most of their voices. Arvil really didn’t want to get kicked out of the cinema. Now that would have been annoying.

group

“Arvil… Really?” Daisy murmured, burying her face in her hands.

“Really,” Arvil squeezed her shoulder. “C’mon. For your amazing fiancé.”

group

“No, I’m not that good of a singer. You ruined it now,” Daisy declared in a mutter, peeking through her fingers to glare at him.

Arvil shot her a wink, fighting the urge to kiss the top her head. His lips burned, but he managed. Arvil applauded his self-control. “Hey, that makes us a perfect couple, then,” he joked. “Not that I’m a terrible singer. I’m one heck of a talented one.”

group

“This coming from the man who told me he sucks at karaoke,” Daisy reminded him, fully pulling her hands away to raise an eyebrow at him.

Arvil gasped, raising his free hand to his mouth. “I do not recall ever saying that,” he said dramatically, though it was a whisper. “How dare you make up words, Riley?”

group

Daisy rolled her eyes and poked him in the side. “You told me that when I asked which game you were the worst at,” she reminded him quietly.

Arvil snatched her hand, grinning. “I will neither deny, nor agree, to such a statement,” he poked her back. “Watch the movie, darling.”

group

Daisy huffed and slipped her hand from his hold, though a smile had spread on her lips. After a while, she started singing again, despite knowing that Arvil was listening. So what? They would be married. There would be plenty of opportunities for him to hear her singing again.

When she started singing again, Arvil smiled. He slid his arm back around her shoulders and pulled her close, letting her head rest on his. This was fun. It really was.

group

Daisy blushed slightly as his arm curled around her shoulders when she started to sing again. Why did he find this so amusing? It wasn’t like it was something attractive, anyway. In fact, she was sure it was rather unattractive…

The movie ended sooner than Arvil would have liked, for one, he had to remove his arm from around his fake fiancée. Two, it had been quite peaceful. Three, that meant they needed to go home.

But not if he could help it.

“How about we go get some ice cream?” He questioned Daisy as they exited the theater. “Ice cream is definitely wanted, no?”

group

Daisy blinked and looked up at him. “Oh. Sure, yeah. Who doesn’t want ice cream?” she agreed with a shrug.

“Exactly,” Arvil chuckled. “Which ice cream shop does my love want to go to?”

group

“Have you heard of Nelson’s? They give you a lot of ice cream for not a lot of money,” Daisy suggested with a shrug, unconsciously leaning closer to him.

Arvil’s arm slid around her waist, pressing her closer. “Are they any good?” he quirked an eyebrow at her. “Because if you’re just suggesting for the low price, then we’ll go elsewhere.”

group

Daisy chuckled and shook her head, choosing not to react to his arm around her again. “No, no. They’re the best. Really. It’s my favorite place to go for ice cream.”

Arvil hummed, though he was disappointed that he couldn’t see the pretty blush on her cheeks. “Nelson’s it is, then,” they stopped in front of his car and Arvil removed his arm from her. “Be my map?”

group

“Sure. I don’t think it’s far from here,” Daisy mused, opening her door and slipping into the car.

Arvil sat inside, buckling his seatbelt before he started the car. “It would have been better if you gave me a map to your eyes, but hey, gotta work with what I’ve got,” Arvil turned to wink at her. “Anyway, enough flirting. For today.”

group

Daisy choked on air, coughing a couple of times as her cheeks turned pink. It wasn’t that it was a particularly good pickup line… No, it was actually rather cheesy, which was why it had affected her so. She was partly flustered, partly amused because who used that line anymore?

Arvil grinned at her reaction, as well as the way her cheeks had warmed up. “Well, then,” he started cheekily as he pulled out of the parking lot. “Nice blush, love. When did you manage to reapply it?”

group

“Who even uses that line anymore?” Daisy questioned with her hoarse voice, tuning to give him a shocked look.

“Hey, give me credit here,” Arvil laughed, looking at her. “I’m very smart, Daisy—no narcissism—but you manage to make all but five brain cells fall asleep.”

group

Daisy hummed and glanced out the window, the blush returning. “Good to know,” she mused quietly.

Arvil reached over to brush a hand over her cheek. “So, the directions…? Also, play whichever music you’d like.”

group

“Oh, right. Take a right out of the parking lot, then a left at the first light,” Daisy instructed, facing forward again. His hand was cool against her warm cheek, though she refrained from getting any more flustered than she already was.
