Rykah smiled at him, picking one up to munch on.
Rykah and Will(because I can't think of a better title)
It took Jesse literally putting the food in his face for Jack to start eating. Everyone needs his family looked at him with concern, because he couldn’t start that again.
Rykah let a flash of concern show but quickly shoved it away, keeping one eye on Jack.
Jack eventually shook his head when offered more. “I’m not really that hungry.” Three people began to tell him that he had to eat, but Jesse cut them all off. “You has enough, that’s fine.”
Rykah gave Jack a smile, trying his best to make things better for him.
Jack saw and smiled back, and said, “So…. when’re we leaving?”
"Leaving?" asked Rykah.
“Dog? Conversation yesterday? The twenty dollars Anna owes me?” Jack said, smirking and looking at Anna.
Rykah grinned, "I have no idea when we're leaving, but soon I hope!"
“Me too!” Jack replied, as Anna handed him his money.
Rykah grinned, his tail flicking through the bars of the chair.
“Morning kids!” Mom said, coming down the stairs.
"Morning Ma'am" said Rykah.
“You don’t have to call me ma’am, Rykah.” Mom said, smiling, and ruffling Jesse’s hair.
"Ok…" said Rykah shyly.
“My name is Lydia.” Mom said, smiling.
“You could always just call her Mom like Finn and I do.” Jesse said.
"I have a mom…" said Rykah, "So that would be a little weird for me…" he said smiling at Lydia.
“Then just go with Lydia.” Mom said, smiling and fixing herself a cup of coffee.
"Alright.." said Rykah, not sure if he was comfortable with it, but forcing himself to get over it.
Will smiled and looked at his mom for a cup of coffee.
Rykah looked at all of them, happy he had a new family.
Mom handed Will another cup of coffee, and Will reached down to grab Rykah’s hand.
Rykah took it, his wing wrapping around Will's chair again.
Will smiled at him, and then took a sip of his coffee, which was, by now, very cold. He gave a yell of surprise, causing everyone to laugh.
Rykah laughed, pulling Will closer to keep him warm.
Will smiled, wondering how he got so lucky as to be in a family like this.
Rykah grinned, laying his head on the table tiredly, having gotten up too early with Will.
Will put a hand on his shoulder, still smiling, as he said, “when can we leave, mom?”
Rykah held back a yawn, half wondering why he was so tired.
(I think Imma make another plot twist)
(Ok)
“The shelter doesn’t open until ten, so we have a few hours.” Mom replied.
