Jax hissed again, pushing her away and flailing his hands. Touching him when he was like this was not a good idea.
Sanity (4/3, Stalkers are welcome if you want :3)
Fox watches, trying to see how to not be seen by them, or interact with them if needed.
Melanie tumbled and banged her shoulder on the floor, yelping in pain like a hurt puppy. She clutched her shoulder, where it would probably bruise soon, and lay in a fetal position, whimpering.
Fox abandons the "Stay hidden" plan, and runs up to Melanie to check if she's ok.
(it broke for a moment lmao)
Melanie notices Fox, and her eyes widen. "What…? Are you gonna…?," Melanie stood up too quickly, and grimaced when she used her right arm to get herself up. "D-don't hurt me, you…you thing!"
Fox steps away, he falls, but keeps scooting away. He scoots into a corner, whimpering.
Guilt stabs at Melanie, regret soonly following. "I-I didn't mean…" Melanie pauses, and looks down, "I guess I hurt when I try to heal people…"
Fox stops whimpering, he slowly gets up, and hugs Melanie.
Melanie stiffens, but doesn't shove him away. Eventually, she rests her head on Fox's shoulder, and she cries, not wanting to live in hostility.
Fox slowly pets Melanie's head, trying to calm her down a bit.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry…" Melanie sniffles, wrapping her arms around Fox. When she stops hugging Fox, there's no joy in her eyes.
Fox smiles and tries to indicate that it's fine.
Fox remembers about Jax on the top of the cabinet and looks at him, kind of curious.
Jax is curled up, tears streaming down his face. He feels safer up here, but that doesn't mean it's entirely safe.
Fox climbs up, and sits beside Jax, humming a peaceful tune.
"Get away from me." He hissed, lifting his head up to glance at the animal and scooting backwards more.
Fox nods, and scoots away a little bit, giving him room. He's still humming.
"I've tried already, but he's convinced I'll hurt him, probably kill him…" Melanie looked at Fox without emotion.
Fox hears this, and takes it into account.
"Farther." He hissed, backing away himself.
Fox nods, and scoots as far away as he can, without falling off.
"How…?" Melanie chuckles, "I guess I do things too quickly."
Fox shrugs, still humming the same tune
Melanie leaned against a wall and sat down, bobbing her head from side to side, almost lost in her own world while still listening to reality, something she does to pass the time, usually spent in her room/cell. But today she felt freedom. Freedom from her room. She should be happy, but she wanted more. She wanted to do the unimaginable: escape to the outside world. After all, she'd been in this asylum for 14 years.
Fox hangs his legs off the top of the cabinet, still humming.
