Lucifer looked at him after fitting on a shirt. “Yes Chase?”
Satan’s Best ‘Friend’ (One on One)(Closed)
Chase took a deep breath, making himself look at Lucifer’s eyes. “Would you know… would you know where my mom went?” She had to have gone to heaven, but Chase just wanted to make sure. He needed to know.
“Your mother? What was her name?” He asked this kindly, turning to him completely.
“Alice Goeman,” Chase swallowed, nervously figeting with his hands. “Sh-She died seven years ago, if that helps.” He missed his mother, her soft voice and comforting hugs… that was when everything in his life had been okay. When his father had rarely had drinks and when the kids at school had bothered him too much.
Lucifer looked down at the ground, looking thoughtful. “Hmmm… there is no one in Hell with that name. Would you like me to look for her name in the catalogs?”
“Yes- I-I mean, I would really really like that,” Chase turned red slightly. But he was infinitely relieved to know that Lucifer didn’t know the name. But I just want to be sure…
Lucifer smiled and nodded. “Of course. I will check for you.”
“Thank you, Lucifer,” Chase told him, then finally moved to get dressed. To be honest, Chase was still worried to know the answer. One part of him desperately wanted his mother to be safe in Heaven- that’s where she deserved to go. But the other part of him… he missed his mother. And after that dream he had last night, of seeing her again… Chase was certainly grateful he’d always have Lucifer around.
Lucifer pulled off his sweatpants and pulled on a pair of dresspants. He watched Chase slump away.
“Chase? Are you okay?”
(Sorry I disappeared for a few days)
“I…” Chase took a deep breath, looking at the floor, “I just miss her. Yet she should be in Heaven- I want her to be in Heaven, just part of me…” Chase trailed off, one of his hands moving to linger at his side.
(That’s alright)
Lucifer moved across the room to look at Chase’s worried profile. “I am assured she will be, then. If you have faith in her, I’m sure she’ll be there, happy and prosperous.”
Chase took another deep breath then took off his shirt to get changed for the day so his hands would have something to do. Something about Lucifer’s confident words put Chase at ease, “Alright. Yeah.” He nodded as if the affirm it for himself as he changed his pants.
Lucifer smiled a bit. “Right. Yep. I am sure, and I will be checking to make sure,” He assured Chase, giving his shoulder a little pat. He trotted back across the room to change.
Chase smiled a little bit and Lucifer’s touch, something about it would always make his heart flutter- no matter how much he would try to ignore that feeling. At least it got his mind off things. “I’m glad I asked you,” Chase said quietly, “I had been thinking about it for a while now.”
Lucifer fit off his shirt, smiling happily in return. “I could tell. You have seemed more reserved over the past few days. I was getting worried for you.” He put on his dress shirt, tying his tie neatly and grabbing his shoes.
Chase blushed slightly as he smiled back at Lucifer. He was worried for me? Chase finished getting dressed and asked with the smile still on his face, “You could really tell? Am I that easy to read?”
Lucifer smiled a bit wider. “You are not a challenge, but don’t be offended. I am very good at sniffing out emotions.”
Chase took a subtle step closer to Lucifer, “Well, you are pretty much perfect,” He grinned at Lucifer, “You’re strong, handsome, good at reading people- I’m surprised you aren’t dating anyone.” Chase told him, letting out a laugh.
Lucifer grinned back, tying on his other shoe. “I suppose, but I am Lucifer. It takes a special fellow to want to date me.”
Chase laughed again. “Please, I’m sure tons of people would want to date you,” He told Lucifer, “You’re a lot nicer than your reputation lets on.”
Lucifer scoffed softly and shook his head. “You’d be surprised. Anyway. Did you want to go out today?”
Chase rolled his eyes playfully, about to respond with ‘you’d be surprised’, but instead replied with a bright smile, “Going out sounds nice.”
Lucifer laughed as if knowing what Chase was going to say. “Alright. Where?”
“Maybe just for a walk? See where that leads us,” Chase said with the smile still on his face.
Lucifer shrugged off his jacket and nodded. “Sure thing! Right now?”
