“Yeah, they’re outside right now.” Sop waved to catch his sister’s attention and gestured for them to come in. Krystal approached the table, giving Joey an assessing look. “Hello,” she greeted in a lightly accented voice.

Joey moved a bit closer to Sol, looking up at Krystal shyly. "Hello… it's nice to meet you, ma'am." He said softly.
Krystal’s face broke into a grin. “Oh my stars, Sol, he called me ‘ma’am’. He’s adorable,” she laughed, leaning against the black-haired man she came in with. “You can call me Kris, I’m his sister, not his mother, even if I raised the little bird.”
Joey flushed harder and looked away, fidgeting with his hands. "If you insist, Miss Kris." He replied, still wanting to be polite. He glanced up at the man she was with curiously.
The other man gave a long-suffering sigh, smiling at Kris before looking at Joey and Sol. “Hey, name’s Alistar,” he greeted softly, holding out a calloused hand. “Forgive my mate, she enjoys embarrassing Sol here.”
Joey shook Alistar's hand with a slight nod, his own hands much smaller and softer than the other man's. "My name is Joey. It's nice to meet you, sir."
Alistar smiled and nodded. “You as well, Joey.”
“Now that we’ve been introduced,” Krystal butted in, green eyes turning sharp. “I must ask what your intentions are regarding my brother.”
“Kris, sestra, must you really? You just met,” Sol asked in exasperation, rolling his eyes as he gave Joey’s hand a light squeeze.
"A-Ah… um… intentions?" Joey flushed again, still seeming pretty nervous. "W-Well, I dunno… I like how it is right now. We spend a lot of time together. If you mean like… any ill intentions, I would never do anything to hurt him."
Krystal’s eyes softened slightly. “That is good to hear,” she stated. “But I feel I must clarify. Are you serious about a relationship with him, or do you see this as temporary?”
“Kris, please,” Sol groaned, rubbing his face with his free hand. “I care for Joey, so much. And he cares about me. Even if he decides one day that he no longer wants to be with me, that is his choice, not malicious intent. We are adults and can handle a relationship.”
"I-I think it's serious…" Joey replied softly, his face very red by now. He didn't want to speak for Sol, of course, but he would definitely like to stay with Sol for a while. He kept close to Sol, a bit of his hair falling into his face.
Sol hummed softly, a bit irritated with Kris for causing Joey any amount of distress. He gently brushed Joey’s hair back and cupped his cheek, pressing a light kiss on his forehead. “Thank you, estello,” he whispered.
Krystal watched the exchange with sharp eyes, but relaxed, leaning once more against her own mate.
Joey closed his eyes at the gentle kiss and leaned against Sol, feeling pretty small amongst all the taller people. He was also a bit self conscious since his legs were exposed with Sol's oversized shorts and hoodie on. "Mhmm…"
Sol purred, pulling Joey against him protectively. He knew his sister wasn’t a threat, he trusted her completely, but he wanted Joey to feel comfortable. He gently pressed a couple more kisses across Joey’s cheeks before looking over at his sister defiantly.
“Well, that was adorable,” Krystal admitted, tone and eyes softer. “I won’t apologize for being protective of my brother, but I am sorry for making you uncomfortable, Joey. I can see you care for each other.”
Joey looked up at Krystal shyly, seeming a little more relaxed after the affection from Sol. "It's alright… it's really nice to meet you, Miss." He said softly. "I-I just wasn't expecting to see you today." He laughed a bit, tucking himself under Sol's arm.
Krystal finally smiled a bit. “It is nice to meet you, as well, Joey,” she said gently. “Thank you for putting up with my worrying. We should probably get going, actually, Akali is guarding my sparrow and I don’t want to leave them for long.”
Sol nodded in understanding and appreciation. “See you later, sestra,” he said, reaching out to squeeze her hand. “Good to see you, Alistar.”
"See you later." Joey waved a bit and huddled up against Sol's side, finishing off his coffee with a soft sigh. "It's sweet that your sister cares about you so much. They seem nice."
“She’s a great sister,” Sol agreed with a smile. “And Alistar is perfect for her, they balance each other well.” He sighed, leaning back more comfortably. Sol loved his sister, but he had not been as prepared as he thought for that encounter. “I definitely think she liked you, estello.”
Joey smiled softly and huddled closer to Sol. "Well, that's good to hear. Hopefully you're right; I want your friends and family and stuff to like me."
“How could they not like you?” Sol smiled, resting an arm behind Joey along the back of the booth. “She would have been even more… intimidating if she disliked you right off the bat.”
"Well, I'm glad she wasn't more intimidating…" Joey sighed softly, closing his eyes as he relaxed. "She was scary enough as is, honestly. Who else do I need to meet?"
Sol laughed softly. “Yeah, she can be absolutely terrifying. I pity anyone she dislikes,” he said. “And maybe you could meet my friend Fallon? He’s out of town right now, though. Besides him, there’s not really anyone else that I’m close enough to.”
"Yeah, sure. That sounds good to me." Joey yawned and got to his feet, stretching. "Should we head back to your apartment now?" He asked.
Sol got up after Joey and nodded. “Sure. Would you mind if we stopped by the store first? I need to grab a couple things,” he replied.
"Hmm?" Joey glanced up at Sol. "Oh, sure. What do you need to get?" He asked, taking Sol's hand as he walked.
“Just some regular things, juice, oatmeal, fruit and the like. Plus some cleaning stuff,” Sol answered, threading their fingers together.
Joey nodded a bit, humming happily as he walked beside Sol. "Sounds good to me. I think I was low on something as well, but I can't remember what it is…"
“We can walk around a bit and see if you remember,” Sol offered as they neared the car. He went to open Joey’s door first and waited until he got in before going around to get behind the wheel.
"Alright." Joey got into the car, thanking Sol softly as he buckled himself in. "I don't think it was anything particularly exciting…"
Sol shrugged, starting the car and reaching over to hold his hand. “We’ll look around.”
Joey nodded a bit, lacing his fingers with Sol's with a happy hum. He watched out the window until they arrived at the store.
