"Looks like I have good taste," Spencer joked with a laugh. "But anyway, my birthday will be December third. You probably got me a tie or something…"
Spies One-On-One (Closed)
“Sure,” Anya said. “Every guy has a generic blue tie, right? How ‘bout I bought you that?”
Spencer nodded in agreement. "And it's my favorite tie ever. Unfortunately, I left it at home because it was being cleaned."
Anya laughed. “I never knew that ties were sent off to be cleaned…. maybe you ‘lost’ it, but in reality, you purposefully left it behind because you don’t like it very much. You just didn’t tell me, because I would’ve been mad.”
"Right, right," Spencer laughed. "But you think it's being cleaned because that's the excuse I gave for not bringing it."
“Exactly,” Anya smiled, placing the necklace she was holding back in her bag.
"All right, is there anything else?" Spencer wondered.
“I don’t think so…” Anya said thoughtfully. “Oh! Kids! I don’t want any, and you are currently too focused on your job. Maybe? Does that work?”
"Why wouldn't you want kids?" Spencer asked, giving her a confused look.
“I dunno,” Anya shrugged. “I guess it’s easier to explain… because if this assignment ends up being long-term, we can’t actually have kids, so… I dunno, we can figure something else out if you want.”
"No, I guess that makes sense," Spencer said, shaking his head. "Sure, we'll go with that, then."
“Alrighty,” Anya nodded. “Anything we’re missing? Do you want to cover relatives?”
"I think we can just make something up on the spot," Spencer decided with a shrug.
“Good idea,” Anya said, closing her suitcase and walking back over to the door to set it down. “Does the file say when we leave?”
"Looks like…" Spencer trailed off as he looked at the file. "A couple of days."
“Oh, wow,” Anya muttered. “Really? Days?”
"You don't think that's enough time?" Spencer asked, walking toward the couch.
“No, I think it’s too much,” Anya smiled. “We usually have much less time.”
"Hey, that just means that I can spend more time with you," Spencer declared with a grin, gesturing for her to join him.
“That is a good point,” Anya laughed, walking back over to the couch and sitting down next to him.
Spencer wrapped an arm around her shoulders and kissed her cheek.
"How often do we just talk about trivial things like our favorite colors or numbers or animals?" he wondered out loud, hugging her close.
“… never,” Anya answered, after a moment of thought. She tilted her face upwards. “What’s your favorite color?”
"Um… Navy blue. What about you?" Spencer asked, pecking her nose.
“Bright green,” Anya said without a moment’s hesitation. “Not like traffic-vest-neon-green, but like leaf-right-at-the-beginning-of-spring green.”
"That's a good color, too. Okay, what about your favorite animal?" Spencer asked.
“Hmm… that’s harder,” Anya said thoughtfully. “I guess it’s a tie between an otter and a hedgehog. You?”
"Germain shepherd. Hands down," Spencer answered with a laugh. "But hedgehogs and otters are pretty cute. I mean, I know of something much cuter, but they're up there."
Anya laughed. “And what might that be?”
"Well, she just so happens to be sitting right next to me…" Spencer trailed off, looking over at her with a grin.
“Oh, okay,” Anya grinned, chuckling softly. She cupped Spencer’s face in her hands and kissed him.
