The Dragon // One on One // Closed
Yeah but how
(No hecking clue I lack creativity. I mean I could just be like pacing back and forth like "I can do this" "Yeah no I can't do this" "I CAN DO THIS" and then just storm the place?)
(I mean sure lol. Kono can just hear her because heightened senses and he's like which bitch thinking she can have money??)
(Mkay)
After far too long of a journey, Gemini dismounted her horse, leaving it beside a tree with an apple to hopefully appease it. She walked towards the cave entrance, muttering to herself, "you can do this," then immediately turned around, leaning against a tree. "This is stupid. What am I even doing this for? Gold isn't worth a burnt face," the she shook her head and walked back towards the entrance, unsheathing her sword. She stopped just before entering and jjust stared into the cave blankly. "I physically cannot do this," she muttered.
(Does this work? Sorry It's so short.)
(That's fine bro it's good)
Kono stayed completely still beneath his mountain of gold coins, listening to some girl talking to herself. He waited for her to enter so he could startle her, since that was sometimes enough to drive people away. He was invisible beneath the gold at the moment.
The room was full of a variety of treasures, although the majority was gold coins. Beside that, there were weapons, armor, various gems, goblets… almost any treasure you could think of was in here, and Kono intended to protect it. Now, he didn't exactly know why he was protecting it, but that was the only thing his father ever taught him to do, so he was going to do it.
Pinching the bridge of her nose, Gemini sighed, walking into the cave. "Excuse me? I'm supposed to get some gold, and - oh, here it is. Can I just… borrow some? My parents are going to kick me out if I don't get this, so… um, hello?" She called. "Hello?"
Kono let out a low growl and rose his head a bit out of his mountain of coins. The coins clinked and jingled their way to the floor of the cave, which was also covered in coins. Kono met Gemini's eyes with his fierce golden ones, still not fully revealing himself.
"Shi… id that a no, then? Do I actually have to fight you? I don't really want to die, but… um, okay," she cleared her throat and held her sword higher. "Give me your treasure or die by my sword!" She threatened in a false hero voice.
Kono rose fully out of the pile, sending coins scattering around the room with a roar. He watched Gemini closely, not attacking quite yet. He knew her sword likely wasn't even strong enough to pierce through his scales, save specific weak spots. You needed strong blades for that. Magic blades.
Gemini covered her ears. "Oh, shit, okay, um… what do you say after that?" She paused. "Um… let us duel!" She declared uncertainly.
Might as well give her a slightly fairer fight… Kono decided to go into his half shifted form after picking up a sword. He bared his teeth, glaring down at Gemini. He was still far taller than her at about seven feet, half shifted. His long, slightly twisted horns curled up from the sides of his head, and his tail flicked in irritation. He pointed his sword at Gemini silently.
"Dear sweet lord above," Gemini whispered, shaking her head. "This is not worth my house," she muttered, shaking her head before charging at him.
Kono blocked her easily with his sword and pushed her backwards. He never broke eye contact, hoping for the intimidation factor that it gave him. He simply kept her where she was for now, debating what to do. He didn't really want to kill her, so he'd have to find some other option.
Gemini nodded with a sudden wave of determination. "Okay, okay, I learned this," she muttered, trying a new tactic with her sword.
"Why are you still talking to yourself?" Kono growled, his voice low and surprisingly smooth. He blocked Gemini again. He wasn't too worried about getting hurt, as he was skilled in fighting and had good regenerative abilities just in case.
"Because I'm nervous, obviously," she replied, parrying. "Also, my sister said it would help. It is not," she explained, shaking her head. "You're too… freaking GIANT for this."
"Well, at least you know you can't win." Kono said simply, stepping back a bit to parry. If nothing else, he knew he could go on far longer than Gemini. He still had at least some of his dragon endurance while half shifted.
"Well, Christ, I didn't say I couldn't win, I said that muttering to myself isn't helping my self confidence at all. But, that too, I guess," she replied dejectedly.
Kono used more force and pushed Gemini backwards off her feet, standing above her menacingly. "Don't make me have to forcibly remove you from this cave." He said in a threatening, yet silky smooth voice. His eyes seemed to almost be glowing as they reflected the coins.
"Goddammit, you cut my hand. That really hurts. Also, I'm going to get kicked out of my house for this," she said with a groan. "Gods, I'm going to get kicked out of my village for this," she said, absentmindedly ripping a piece of cloth off her shirt to wrap around her hand.
"Lovely. That sounds like a you problem. Now, leave unless you wish to have more than your hand injured." Kono fully shifted back into a dragon and turned away to lay on the coins again, keeping a close eye on Gemini.
"Okay, but what if I just took like… one coin? Just one singular coin?" She asked, leaning against the wall. "Did you cut my side, too? Oh, my gods, this is just - " she muttered a few curses under her breath, standing up and heading for the exit. "Thanks for the… entertainment, I guess."
Kono growled quietly and made sure she didn't steal anything on the way out. While the girl was irritating, she was interesting enough. Perhaps he wouldn't hate it if she made a reappearance someday… But for now, he nestled himself back into his pile of coins while Gemini returned home to likely get medical help and tell of her adventures.
Gemini immediately flopped to the ground next to her horse, Applesauce. "I think I'm dying," she wheezed to her. Applesauce stared at her blankly. "Yes, well, your life isn't all that interesting, either, Miss Applesauce," she said in response. "Ok, so the plan is to camp out here until I either decide to go back in, or die, got it?" She asked eyes fluttering shut. After a moment she snapped them back open. "Ok, ok, I need… water? Do I have any medicine, or… no? Why the HELL didn't I bring medicine? Am I actually stupider than I thought? Is that even possible?" She muttered to herself, rooting through Applesauce's saddlebags.
Kono heard Gemini rambling to herself about something, which was a bit annoying, but not unbearable yet. He buried his head in the coins in hopes that it would block out the girl's voice, which was unsuccessful, of course. He couldn't see her from where he was, but her habit of talking to herself pretty much kept him in the know at all times.
Gemini eventually found some medicine and applied it to her arm and side. After a moment it started to sting like crazy. "OW, son of a motherf - no, no, I'm good. OW," she saw a few birds fly away, startled at her sudden yelp. She leaned up against Applesauce, who kicked her. "What the FUCK, Applesauce, I'm dying here!" She shook her head, clutching her ribs. "This is so stupid."
Kono sighed as Gemini kept yelling to herself. He roared loudly as his way of telling her to shut up without the ability to speak, at least not in this form. His roar shook the cave and the ground nearby, startling Gemini's horse.
"I'M DYING OVER HERE, COULD YOU GIVE ME A MOMENT, PLEASE?" She roared back as she fell into the dirt. For a moment, she lay there, stunned. Then, without a moment's hesitation, she promptly fell asleep.
Thank god… she fell asleep. Or died. I really don't care either way. Kono moved to lay in front of the entrance while he slept so no one could get in. He didn't figure Gemini could try anything in this condition, if she was even alive, but he couldn't take any chances.
