Eve was still asleep when he woke up. The light brought a shine to the tear tracks on her face.

Issac looked at her admiring her company

Eventually, her eyes fluttered open, and seeing him looking at her, she quickly wiped at her face. "Hey."

"you didn't have to stay" he said

Eve sat up straighter. "Of course, I did. I don't see anyone else coming."

"Fair enough" he said and ran his fingers through her hair

Eve closed her eyes and hummed softly. "How do you feel?"

"in pain" he said doing his best not to strain himself so he only formed simple sentences

"Do you want me to call a nurse?" she asked quietly.

"no…no I'll… he took in a deep breath I'll be ok" he said

"Are you sure?" Eve asked worriedly.

"yeah just not full… Full of hot air" he said

Eve shook her head. "I'm worried about you."

"don't be I'll… come back from…. this" he said

"I know," Eve muttered. "But that doesn't stop me from worrying right now."

"you worry too much" he said as his breathing started to improve

"Only about the people I care for."

"thanks… Thanks for staying" he said

Eve leaned in and kissed him softly. "Of course."

"that's the best thing that's happened to me in twenty-four hours" he said

"I didn't realize I was that bad of a sexual partner," she teased.

"that's not what I meant… although that doesn't sound too bad right now but, I've got to heal up first" he said teasing right back

Eve's eyes flashed knowingly. "Oh?"

Issac put his left hand on his right ribs then tried to sit up

"No no no no," Eve insisted, gently pushing his shoulders back down.

Issac gave in willingly knowing it might be for the best but decided to be funny about it and said "how long can you keep me down like this"

Eve arched her eyebrows and smirked. "Is that a challenge?"

"and if it is?" He said almost daring her

Eve leaned closer. "I accept."

Issac budged but didn't fully sit up
