“I don’t have time for your lies, demon.” Trenton had begun to shiver after being exposed to the cold for a few minutes. “I’ve been forced read like… every history book on my family.”
TiredOtter? One on One?
"And who were those books written by? Mhm, the royal scribe who was most likely watched by the king. Take it from someone who was alive when they did that, it did happen."
“Who am I supposed to trust more, darling?” Trent shot back his fists clenched. “My family who raised me, or the demon who kidnapped me and sentenced everything I care about to death!” He stormed back over to the spring, just as angry as he was after being kidnapped.
"Take it from the demon who was burnt alive along with his family becuase they were accused of being witches! Take it from the demon who was sentenced to death as a direct order from the king!" Blair said, his mis-matched eyes burning.
“Then why don’t you just do that to me too! If you’re so bitter!” Trent turned around, his eyes shimmering with the tears he was holding back. “I’m a prince aren’t I? Drop my charred body on my father’s doorstep if you have to! Killing everything living creature on this planet wont get you anywhere!”
"Becuase right now, you're the only okay offspring that your family line has produced," Blair growled, crossing his arms and turning on his heel.
Trenton turned away as well, this time retreating into a guest room and out of Blair’s slight. He let out a frustrated yell, tears streaming down his cheeks in the darkness.
Ooof//
He’s a big drama queen))
OOF!//
He’s probs just gonna sulk for a bit so Blair can just go get breakfast or whatever he needs to do lol))
Ugh… Oof//
(Lol hang on I’ll speed it up so he stops whining)
Trent came out of the room awhile later once he stopped sniffling. He walked over to the spring, leaning near the edge and using his hands to scoop water into his mouth.
"Watch out of the eels, they get pretty territorial." Blair warned him, having been watching the door and waiting for Trenton to come out.
“Eels?” Trent scrambled away from the edge of the water, a bit panicked.
"Yeah, a lot of animals that are usually seen as evil or bad luck come here. They kind just appear, it's some trippy shit."
“Are there, black cats around? I had one when I was younger, but a witch doctor told my father it was evil and he drowned it.” The prince scratched the back of his neck, calming down a little. “Her name was Scruffles.”
"Huh, there is a cat that calls itself Scruffles, I could probably find it." Blair said, making a little oof noise when he sat down next to him.
“You have my cat?” Trent got to his feet, a soft genuine smile on his face.
"Perhaps… SCRUFFLES!" Blair yelled, a small black cat with fluffy fur prancing up.
Trent looked like he was going to cry all over again. “You have Scruffles!” A hint of childish excitement danced in his eyes as he rushed over to Blair, scooping up the small cat.
"Huh, what a quinky-dink," Blair muttered, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
Trent cuddled up to the cat, burying his face in her fur. “Thank you. For caring for her, I mean.”
"I like animals, they don't complain as much as humans. Though they do still complain."
Trent was practically smothering the small cat, taking it over to the couch so he could cuddle. “You talk about them like they can speak.” He rolled his eyes, assuming Blair was joking.
"I'm a demon, we can speak to animals considered evil. Also, she wants you to pet her ears." Blair said with a shrug.
Trenton started to pet the cat’s ears. “Is that why you can talk to me then?” He was only half joking.
"Meh, I guess, humans in a way are called evil by a number of species." Blair said, examining his fingernails.
“Can I ask you something?” Trenton looked over at Blair, his face still red from his previous crying episode.
"Sure, fire away." Blair said, shifting his full attention onto Trenton. "Oh also, I don't think I actually introduced myself! I'm Blair."
