“Ah, I wish I could do something about the pain…” he murmured, but mostly to himself, but the second he caught sight of the little baby in Ashley’s belly, he froze. “It’s like a peanut…”

Ashley turned her attention to the screen, and her whole face immediately softened st the sight of the small blip on the screen. That was her baby… The baby she was carrying from her boyfriend…
“Babe… Lucas, that’s our baby,” she breathed, in awe of the new life inside of her.

Lucas felt like his whole world stopped at that moment. He was seeing their baby for the first time. The baby his girlfriend would breathe life into, the baby she would bring into the world so he could give it all of his love.
Lucas turned his attention towards Ashley and reached over to press his lips on her forehead, overjoyed.

Ashley grinned and reached up to cup his cheeks in her hands. She pulled him down to connect their lips in a long, soft kiss.
“I love you,” she whispered after pulling away.

The nurse chuckled softly at the young couple before shaking her head. “You could guess it, but you won’t be able to tell for a few more months. Sorry.”
“That’s okay. We don’t need to know yet, anyway. I’m happy just knowing that it’s there,” Ashley said softly, returning her own gaze to the screen.

“How about we get Eden this?” He asked, chuckling. “She absolutely adores hamsters, and just imagine having ‘auntie’ written on it? And we could get a snake onesie for Sterling! Kind of like hamster and the snake?”

Ashley furrowed her eyebrows at the onesie and shook her head. “It’s cute, but weren’t we going to put ‘Auntie’ and ‘Uncle’ on a shirt with the ultrasound picture?” she reminded him gently. “Also, I had a cute idea for the onesie if you want to hear it.”
