“Richard’s friend, Mr. Smith, owns a stable and Richard wants me to go down there one day and get more lessons on riding. I owned a horse when I was little but it has been years since I rode one,” Theodosia explains.
Victorian Era Romance (O/O Open)
"Interesting, I've never ridden a horse before." Miguel replied.
“Would you go with me, please? Mr. Smith is rather handsy.” Theodosia feels sheepish just asking this.
Miguel blinked, he was surprised that Theodosia was asking him to go with her, “Sure,” He said finally, “This will be fun!”
Theodosia visibly relaxes, relieved that he’s agreed to go with her. “Thank you, I appreciate you agreeing to go with me.”
“Yes of course,” Miguel replies, “What time are we going, if I may ask?”
"I just need to call for a carriage. Are you busy right now? If you are, we can go another time," Theodosia responds.
Miguel shook his head, “No, we can go any time you’d like m’lady. I’ve done all my afternoon chores and my evening ones don’t start until after supper.”
"I can go arrange for a carriage to pick us up if you are certain that you aren't busy." She doesn't want him to get in trouble if she drags him away to ride horses.
“Go ahead and arrange the carriage m’lady, I’m all ready to go.” Miguel replied.
Theodosia nods her head and stands up. She heads into the house and asks for one for someone to fetch one of the carriages.
Miguel sat outside patiently, waiting for Theodosia.
Theodosia returns a few minutes later. "The carriage is waiting out front for us."
Miguel nodded and stood up, “Okay, sounds good, shall we go then?”
Theodosia nods her head. "Yes, let's go." She ushers Addie inside before heading around to the front gate.
Miguel follows Theodosia to the carriage and gets on after she does.
Theodosia climbs up into the carriage and takes a seat, running her hands along her dress to smooth it out.
Miguel turns to look at Theodosia as the carriage starts moving, “How far is it, Lady Theodosia?”
"Not too terribly long. We should arrive within the hour," Theodosia responds as she peers out of the window.
Miguel nodded, “Alright, not long at all.”
"Will you be getting lessons as well once we arrive?" She asks curiously.
"Not sure," Miguel replied uncertainly.
"Are you not fond of horses?" She raises her brows at him.
"Horses are just fine, I'm just not used to riding any type of animal." Miguel responded.
Theodosia nods her head. “It is rather odd, isn’t it?” Riding a horse is a weird feeling in her opinion.
"Yes, very," Miguel agreed.
Theodosia lapses into silence. They arrive at the stables a little while later.
Miguel stepped out of the carriage first and held the carriage door open and his other hand out to offer to help her get down.
Theodosia smiles in appreciation and takes his hand, carefully climbing out of the carriage. Looking around, her eyes brighten. It’s beautiful. A large stable lays out in front of them. Rolling green fields with horses are in the distance.
Miguel smiles admiringly at Theodosia as her eyes lit up when she began looking around, "Nice place," he said.
