"It does, as a matter of fact, since I can literally see your soul."

"I'm an angel, Zoe. Yes, I can see your soul."

"You said you know a lot about angels!"

"And yet you still know a lot!"

Jaciel sighs loudly.

"Do you at least know this isn't mh true form?!"

"Good! I was going to be extremely annoyed if you didn't!"

"No, I didn't! I showed you the wings I'm allowed to show you without turning the earth to dust! The glimmery, shiny wings are just imitations of what they actually look like; I look far, far more terrifying than I can show."

"No, what's behind me is a demon. And he wants to-" Jaciel starts before they're blown out of the sky.

Well fuck. is all Jaciel has to thenk before she surrounds Zoe with a protective field.

Jaciel sighs, feeling the face of the form she was holding crack and shatter.

Well, the fucker asked for it. . .

And for a solid minute, the world was cold and desolate. No sun touched the ground. The sky was red and filled with black smoke, and it rained blood. The earth itself shook and trembled in fear.

Because in the sky was no longer something that was even remotely human.

No, it was a monstrosity, an ancient horror. It was an angel. And it was pissed.

The demon appears to freeze then disappear.

Then the world goes back to normal.

Jaciel lands, holding a hand over the hole in her face, waiting for it to regenerate.

"Sorry 'bout that."

"Nothing, really. The demon's gone now."

Jaciel snorts.

"You didn't die."
