"Yeah."
Who wants a romance o/o? (OPEN)
"Hhmmm…." He was quiet for a few moments, before speaking again. "What's your favorite you've written?"
She bit her lip. "It, uh, was about… uh, someone I used to date…"
"Oh, you should tell it to me!" He rolled over to look at her.
She didn't look at him, only bit her lip. "I-I don't know…"
"But I like your poems! If you don't want to tell me that one, can you tell me another?"
She thought a second. "Uh, okay…"
"You got any to do with space?"
"Actually, I do," she said, fingering her notebook absently.
"Can you tell me one of those? I-uh, really like space."
She nodded slowly, paging through her book to find the one that she wanted him to read.
Nicky watched her, humming softly to a song stuck in his head.
Slowly, she held it out to him. "H-Here."
Can it be more lonely
Than this?
There is nothing around me, not
Even another life form.
What am I in all this? An
Insignificant girl.
But I blink, and then
I'm surrounded by blooming
Colors that surround me.
The darkness is replaced with the light
And it's beauty
Overwhelms me.
The cold has become warm and it is
To good to truly exist.
But yet it does
And I no longer feel
Alone.
He let out a low whistle, smiling. "Hasn't gotten old."
(I came up with that on the spot, so…)
She blushed. "Is that good?"
((it's good! it's the kind of poem i'd print out and tack up on my wall!
"Definitely." He looked up at her, the smile brightening.
(XD Thanks!)
She smiled shyly. "Oh… well, thanks then."
He reached up, playing with her hair. "You're really cool, y'know that?"
She gasped quietly. "Oh, uh, um… N-Not really, but th-thank you."
"You are! And cute, too!"
"R-Really, I-I'm, I'm not…"
"You are. Your blush is so pretty, and your stutter is adorable, and you're absolutely amazing at writing."
"Th-Thank you," she whispered quietly.
He chuckled, sitting up to move a bit closer, handing the notebook back.
She took it and her fingers ran over the page. The letters were drawn elegantly, in her peace. The next page, however, held words of anger and pain. She shut the book quickly. "Thanks…"
"Would you ever consider getting a pet? Or do you already have one?" His tendency to switch topics shone through.
"I-I used to have a cat," she said slowly.
"Oh, what was it's name?"
"S-Smokey," she answered shyly.
"Now that's a good name. Aaron wanted to get another cat, and when I asked what he would name it, he said 'something like Samantha', and I questioned if we were actually related. Smokey is such a cute name."
