"Nice. Uh, you can change in here, or there's a bathroom across the hall."
Who wants a romance o/o? (OPEN)
"I'll go to the bathroom," she said softly. "It's just the door across the hall?"
"Just across. Locks from the inside, too. Not that you have much to worry about, but just so you know." Renee smiled, tossing another bathing suit to Lilly.
Laura smiled softly and left. She came back a minute or so later wearing the suit. "Does it look okay?"
"Stunning!" Renee exclaimed, and Lilly nodded in agreement.
Laura blushed. "Th-Thanks," she said quietly.
There was a knock at the door, and Nicky's voice came through. "Aaron's bitching about you guys taking so long."
"This is new?" Was Renee's sarcastic reply, followed by his laughter.
Laura smiled a little. "Tell him we said he can cry a river."
Nicky's laughter got louder. "Yeah, I will." And then he was gone, footsteps making their way back down the hall.
Laura fingered the tattoo behind her ear absently.
Renee ducked into the closet to change, calling out to Laura. "That's a cute tat!"
"Hm?" Laura looked up. "Oh, thank you. I have six."
"Oh? What do they stand for?"
"Well this one," she said, touching the rose on her shoulder blade, "was my first one that I got with my best friend before she moved to England. And, um, mine is on my right shoulder… a-and hers is on the l-left." The more she spoke, the more she seemed to clam up.
"Aw, that's sweet! Lilly and I got matching music notes last year, on our collar bones."
She smiled shyly. "There's another one on my ankle. My sock was covering it up earlier…" She took off her sock to show them the tattoo.
Lilly looked down, and Renee peeked out to look too. "Oh, that's pretty!"
"Thanks," she acknowledged quietly. "I… um… I got this one after my little sister…" She stopped and wiped at her eyes. The tears pricked, and she couldn't stop them. "Sorry," she whispered shakily.
Lilly stood quickly, and wrapped her arms around Laura in a hug. "It's okay, you don't have to talk about that one."
"Okay," she whispered, caving into Lilly's touch.
"You want me to call Nicky in, or would you rather just stick with us for a moment?" She asked as Renee came out, a sad smile on her face.
"I don't want him to know yet," she said quietly. Her fingers brushed over the tattoo.
"Alright. I will suggest though, be honest with him. Honesty is incredibly important to Nicky, anf you're honest, he'll be open."
She nodded. "Okay."
Lilly squeezed Laura gently, but didn't let go yet.
Laura took a deep breath. "That's why there's a tattoo of shattered glass on my hip."
Lilly nodded, letting her know she could keep going if she wanted.
"She was in a car accident. It was fatal," she whispered sadly.
"Oh, sweetheart." Lilly's voice was soft.
"She was four!" Laura cried quietly. "I should've died instead of her!"
