She pulled him into a light hug. "You're my best friend, Conner," she whispered.

Friend…That was all.

"I'll never trust anyone as much as I trust you. Am I hurting your back?"

"N-No…" He felt like crying,

She heard something in his voice and pulled away to see him near tears. "Oh, God, Conner! I'm sorry, was it something I said? It was, wasn't it?"

"I-I'm fine…" he choked.

"No, you're not I said something, didn't I? Tell me what I said."

"It's nothing…"

She cupped his face. "Please tell me what I said."

He blushed. "U-Uh…"

Her heart sank. "I'm sorry, I made you uncomfortable, didn't I? I'm sorry…"

"N-No…I-It was just…Sudden."

"What…?" She looked at her hands. "Oh, I'm sorry."

He held his hands to hers. "Don't be."

Her eyes widened and she looked up at him. "O-Okay…"

He sighs shakily. "A-Am I just a friend…?"

"If that's what you want," she murmured, looking him in the eye. "What do you want?"

"Personally…I-I like you…A lot…"

She blushed shyly. "Really? Really truly?"

He nods softly looking away.

"I like you too," she admitted, watching him tentatively to see his reaction.

He stared at her. "D-Don't be l-lying…"

"I'm not. I wouldn't lie about that."

He started crying.

Jamie panicked. "Are you okay? Did I say something? God, I'm the worst person ever…"

"N-No…I'm happy…" He smiled

"Then why are you crying?" she asked, wide-eyed.

"I-I don't know…"

She smiled shyly and wiped away a tear with her thumb. "That's better…"

He looked up at her. "…Thanks."
