"My friend is perfectly aware that even doing that won't stop me. I'll be fine." she retorted, exiting the room. Suri gave a don't-argue-with-her glance and followed. She then returned back. "You coming?" she asked.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"I'll get lost if I leave you two so whether or not I want too I'm coming." Kyle shrugged and set off after them.

Rodan lead them out of the clinic with surprisingly little to no objections from the nurse, like they'd encountered Rodan like this before. Suri helped her friend board their shuttle, allowed Kyle to enter, and they sped off towards Rodan's workplace, a tall spire with ships spinning around it, buzzing with activity.

Kyle watched them in awe. They hadn't had anything like this on Earth and he still found it so surreal. He closed his mouth so he didn't look like a gaping fish but his eyes still glistened with curiosity.

"I'll go up alone. If there's any complications, say, someone who wanted to finish the job, there won't be any risk of you getting involved." Rodan said.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Are you sure that's a good idea? If someone is up there, you're still recovering. I'm sure you can hold your own, I don't doubt that, but wouldn't it be best to at least take one person?"

"I'll be fine. I'm already feeling much better with the fresh air." Rodan snapped. "No, Kai's right. Why don't you two go up together?" Suri asked. After a moment of consideration, "Ugh, fine. But he better not get in my way." she snapped. "Come on, human."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle rolled his eyes, “I’m coming, alien.” He snapped back, following her.

"No need to get all touchy now," Rodan smirked. The inside was more impressive than the outside, with lifts going up and down and even side to side, people in rusty cinnamon robes rushing about, metallic offices everywhere and doors leading anywhere. Lush carpet in covered the floors, tapestries with indecipherable pictures and languages covered the walls, and in the center hub, a giant crackling core surrounded by glass was being tended to by green, scaly, monkeyish things with spiked tails and long wings like bats, skinny limbs galore and eight red beady eyes each. "Akreesh, don't mind them. Nasty little tricksters, they are. Let's go." Rodan said, spoiling the awe of the moment.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle rolled his eyes once again, lingering a second longer then probably necessary to admire the creatures before hurrying along, "Why do you hate me so much?" He asked out of the blue, "I know I'm a depressed human and you know, my species kinda sucked ass but I'm still curious as to why you don't like me."

"Because Suri is far too fond of you. You're a liability." Rodan said stiffly.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Do you only think about work stuff?" He crossed his arms.

"My work is my life. It gives me purpose. I'd be lost without it. Some people actually find meaning in what they do, imbicile." Rodan snapped.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“I was studying to become a scientist, I had a life a head of me. I was going to help people and discover new things everyday. It was my purpose and it has been ripped away from me. Just be glad you have a purpose left.” He snapped back.

"Scientist, huh? What area of study?" Rodan asked casually, starting down a hallway.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Forensic.” He replied simply.

"Well, that's quite similar to what I do, actually. Proving people innocent or guilty based on science and evidence provided, the whole thing. You know, maybe you could have a trial run as my assistant? Or… just forget I said anything, you'd be completely useless either way." she said roughly.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle sighed, “For a minute I thought you were finally being nice to me, Rodan.”

"I'm not nice. My job isn't to be nice, it's to be efficient." Rodan glared.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Look, all I’m asking is that you at least try to be civil with me. Not snap and glare all the time.” Kyle said calmly.

"It's not my job to-why am I even arguing this with you? Listen, I don't give a flying pig-rat about you or your precious little planet. I'm just… it doesn't matter." Rodan sighed, entering a lift. "I'll get to my office, get the letters, and we can leave."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Suri asked me to come with you so whether you like it or not I’m coming up with you.” Kyle stepped into the lift with her.

"Fine, you stubborn bitterseed. Don't say I didn't warn you after you take a staser to the head." Rodan grumbled.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle raised his hands up in surrender, "I won't. Maybe I'll get knocked out and forget about everything that's happened."

@ElderGod-Carrots

He sighed, "Yeah…. suppose so."

Rodan entered her office, all glass and metal, she searched through her desk carefully. The room was arranged as neatly and carefully as a Bento Box, everything colour-coded, in perfect order. Eventually, "I… I found the letter." she said, pulling on a pair of gloves with a snap and putting the letter in a metallic evidence bag. "Let's go." she shrugged, opening the door to exit.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Well that was quick." Kyle said from where he was looking at something on a near by shelf. He sighed and walked over, taking one last glance at the room.

"Don't touch my stuff." Rodan ordered, turning back. "Seriously, don't."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"I haven't. I was just looking." Kyle held his hands up in defense.

"Okay, let's go now then!" Rodan ordered, tone condescending.
