“Whatever, go chew on a stick.” she said. “Oi, no fighting!” Suri ordered.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Go run into a wall, emo." He muttered.

"You wish. Anyways, don't say I didn't warn you two." she sighed, and they had soon left the building again and set off for the event.

“I must have been mad,” Rodan groaned thirty spans later when she realized just how difficult this was going to be. Her life all too often resembled a never-ending string of disasters, but this was going to be a special one. "Everything would be much easier for both of us if you just wear these robes for a few hours.” Once again she tried to give Kai the robes she’d brought in back of the flyer. “They’re in every way superior to Earth wear: they’re clean, as good as new, perfect in all weather conditions. I don't see why you'd not want to wear them."

Kai rolled his eyes and pushed them away again, "Not my style, as I've said and I don't know what type of tracker you've put in them or something. I don't want to touch any alien clothes," He sighed, tying to get his point across was harder then he thought. Especially with someone so stubbon.

"I didn't put-you're being impossibly stubborn! Suri, tell him he needs to wear these." Rodan shouted. "Sorry girl, you're on your own. I'm busy reading an enlightening tale of-" "Suri, I know you're just playing a hologame. Really, you're such a child!" Rodan groaned.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle snorted and chuckled, "Gosh you remind me of people I used to know…"

"Do we? Well, good for them, we are quite amazing people." Suri grinned. Rodan rolled her eyes so high you could see nothing but whites for a moment. "We're close, and they won't let us in unless you're wearing formal clothes. Just for a a while, and then you can put back on your… what are those called again?" she asked.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle sighed somewhat loudly, rubbing at his face with both of her hands, "Clothes. Skinny jeans and a an Adidas jumper."

"Yeah yeah. Just put the robes on or I'll make you, okay?" she said darkly, meaning it.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle rolled his eyes and snatched up the robes, "Fine, whatever. How do you put these on?"

"Easy. They just slip on to fit your form. The magnetic clasps do all the work for you, you just have to put your arms and torso in mostly, they'll seal around your legs loosely, about knee height, and you can just pull on the trousers." she explained. "Go change in the secondary compartment, I'm not exactly motivated to check you out."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle rolled his eyes and sent her a wink, "Oh please, we both know you'd love to see my body." He sighed softly before he headed into the second compartment. He quickly changed out of his familiar clothes with a small frown, already missing the comfort before slipping on the robes. After they were on, same with the trousers, he walked back out.

"You don't look horrible. Let's go." said Rodan, dragging him out, then popping back inside to get Suri off her game.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Kyle brushed himself down with a huff, even though there was nothing on his new clothes. He would never get used to this no matter what.

"Okay, are we gonna go or what?" Suri asked.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Lead the way."

The motherhouse had been located on a vast estate on the northern slopes of Mount Cadon since time immemorable. Its foundations had been laid before even the mighty citadel had been built, and since then, generations had continued to thrive there, sequestered in the clear, calm air of the mountains, far away from the troubled life of the Capital. It was almost a settlement of its own, housing at any time between twenty and two-hundred members. Neither Rodan or Suri had never spent much time on the grounds as a child, and it still surprised Rodan to see how vast they truly were. The land served no purpose — farming had died out long before their time, and hunting, even as a sport, had been out of fashion for millennia. Perhaps in these uncertain times, people would start to build in this isolated area again.

At present, it was was teeming with people. As she walked onto the landing pad, Rodan could see a small fleet of fliers, skippers and other vehicles scattered on the lawn like boats tied to a mooring, with their solar panels and gleaming metal surfaces ablaze in the last sunlight.

She threw one last unhappy glance at Kyle. Everyone would recognize him instantly for Suri's new alien pet, but on the other hand, Rodan's black and white robes were just as conspicuous, as well as Suri being… herself. She could have tried to go incognito, in civilian clothes — she still owned a number of Arcalian robes with which would have blended in easily among her cousins — but the half-formed plan in her head required the protection of authority. Rodan had therefore chosen her most ostentatious dress uniform, which had gold piping, an impractical sash and a very uncomfortable collar that itched where it came into contact with faded scars from the bomb blast that had nearly killed her during an unfortunate scuffle with a terrorist. Still, there was a difference between being impressive and looking as if you were to be the evening’s entertainment.

"Rodan, you okay?" Suri asked her sister. Rodan sighed. "Yes, I'll be fine. Let's go." she said.

Kyle was still looking around in awe at everything, adjusting the robes lightly and already wishing he was back in clothes he knew well. Every time he though of something like that it made his stomach sink and his heart stop, a sense of sadness and loneliness washing over him. He was sure it showed, normally good at keeping his emotions at bay, but today just wasn't his day as he followed the two females in front.

"Ah. I don't see Eulidia anywhere, or her little protegee, Hildred. Anyways, let's mingle. Find out what we can. Suri, Kai, learn what you can, I'll try and figure out why the," she swore in an unfamiliar tongue, "we're here. Okay?" she asked.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Yeah, gotcha." Kyle replied, giving a small nod.
