Dude, apparently you didn't fill out the entire form so I can't really p.m you.
Also, I looked back a page, you.mentioned having about 4 sections thought out (flashbacks/background, rebellion, Peter and Alice reunion, one other one)
how far into the story is Peter going to show up?
it's seems like so far you've got a good starting point, and a solid ending, with a few events happening in between
@AmericasFavoriteFightingFrenchGirl_LAFFETTE!
Okay, how do I do that? I just joined this site like… a few days ago. like 2?
RN I have a flashback story with them as younger kids (I mean, I guess Peter is still the same age lol) but when Alice was younger, and it's just going to be snippets of conversation. So everyone knows from the start of the story (or somewhere near that) that Alice and Peter were friends, and understand Alice's obsession with an eternal childhood. Then I'm thinking Peter comes back in for the last 3rd or so

How would you guys feel about reading a prologue that's like…
You know the story of Alice in Wonderland. Or, rather, you think you know the story. You think it is a story of a girl who gets carried away in her imagination, carried to a fantastical land of Cards and tea and talking animals.
That story isn't quite true.
Wonderland is not a figment of Alice Liddel's imagination. Or anyone's imagination. It is a real place, just as real as Earth, as real as Neverland.
And, like any country, the government isn't perfect. So come, and enter the tumult of Wonderland politics at this moment.
well, it certainly grabs my attention, who wouldn't want to see Wonderland and politics clashing together(:
Alright- the direct address of the reader isn't weird or bad or anything?
Well, that is personal preference. Usually, I dislike addressing the reader, but that's just me.
It's not bad, or weird, not something that would make me not want to read it, because, hell yeah I would read it(:
Maybe… the prologue could be someone that's around for the ending of the story, and kind of writing out to the reader, the life of Alice (just in the prologue, as I'm assuming this will be 1st person?) Then the direct address would just be exactly that
And I like the little mention of Neverland.
Ooh I like that. Maybe I could tell it from Peter's perspective, but at the same time, that may give stuff away. OR I COULD END THE STORY WITH THE SAME POV/ADDRESS AND THEY FIND OUT THEN THAT IT'S PETER bc honestly he's the only one with her as she dies (i'm gonna cry I'm such a mean author)
oh yeah, thatd be awesome!
read the ending, oh what, that was Peter at the beginning!?
mean writers are the best, they make riskier moves and have less happy endings. which in my book, is always better.
YES EXACTLY
Thank you that was a v good idea to have it be someone that is with her at the end
oof lol
I actually love sad endings. Like I love happy endings, but like…. sad endings my dude. Or happy endings that are happy but not the way you expected them to be happy.
Like maybe my two favorite characters died, but everyone else is able to start moving forward and healing
hey guys here's a question
why the heck does Alice get to be the new queen
what did she do to deserve it
Uh um because most of the people like her?????? Ignore that, that's really crappy
hmmm
Are they maybe all trying to figure it out, and then the Jabberwocky convinces Alice to step forward, promising he'll help her if she needs it?
Maybe Cheshire Cat wants her to be queen since she's his friend?
maybe…
Well would you consider Alice to be nice to the people and fair?
Well would you consider Alice to be nice to the people and fair?
I think she has no idea how to run a kingdom, so she doesn't want to, but I think she gets coerced in, as a pawn (which is also a subtle nod to TtLG)

I like this, the jabberwocky having multiple pawns, on opposing sides (like the Knave), doing whatever he can so that in the end, he gets what he wants no matter what

Yes exactly okay ty
maybe she could be a figurehead during the rebellion, and people look to her for hope, so naturally after the death of the queen of hearts, some people are voting that she be the new ruler, while others want Knave or someone else, and the jabberwocky is in the background influencing each contending party

ooh I like that
I'll prob simplify it though, with just Alice being a real contender (she's already a public figure, no one will vote for someone they've never heard of, and I'm thinking the Knave is away on business so he misses the coronation/election thing. But he still ends up as Alice's advisor/Royal assassin. But the jabberwocky is using them both as pawns. Whichever one is more useful, he'll discard the other, and eventually get himself on the throne

good good.
And then Alice dies in the end, so who controls the Knave? jabberwocky. so wonderland is left at the mercy of that creature. boom.
the jabberwocky always WAS controlling the Knave though
so innocent, for now, naive Alice is appointed ruler ,the Knave her advisor. maybe you could start with the execution of the queen of hearts, with the coronation happening right after
