"I guess we go back to the campfire?"

"Or we could… we could g-go for a walk?" He suggested.

"That works too," Astrid replied, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear.

Damien nodded, "W-Which way?"

"We could go that way," Astrid answered, pointing in a direction.

Damien turned in the direction, "Uh yeah, th-that way is good."

Astrid grabbed Damien's hand, and their fingers interlocked.

Damien swallowed and resisted the urge to pull away as they began to walk.

(So could maybe Astrid ask about Damien's past or his stutter or something while they walk? Gives them a chance to become closer…)

"Damien…" Astrid started. "I don't want to intrude…but why do you have a stutter?"

Damien swallowed, "It's a uh… a long a-and sad story, A-Astrid. You sure you want to… to hear it?"

Astrid nodded sweetly. "I'm all ears."

Damien rubbed at his neck before beginning, "Well… I-I've never had the.. the best family life. When I-I was seven, my… my um… my dad became… abusive. My mum left a year later l-leaving just me and Luke…" He took a breath, "W-When I was fifteen… he um.. he tried to um… drown both Luke and… and me. L-Luke didn't make it and I was left with… with…" He took a minute to remember the words, "The stutter and… and brain damage."

"Oh, Damien. That's terrible."

Damien sighed, "It's fine… I-I've learnt to live with it."

"Why did he do those things?"

"I-I don't know. The more he… the more h-he drank the more a-abusive he became…"

"But he's gone, now. Right?"

Damien nodded, "Y-Yeah, along with the… with the rest of my family…"

"So you have no one…"

"I-I have my aunt… but… but we're not that close so… so y-yeah… you're right."

Astrid stopped walking. "Well, now you have me."

"Th-Thank-you, Astrid…" Damien gave her a wobbly smile.

Astrid smiled back and booped Damien on the nose.

Damien rolled his eyes playfully and nudged Astrid with his elbow.

Astrid laughed, her brown eyes sparkling.

"You're beautiful…" Damien breathed.

Astrid blushed and looked away, then quickly pecked Damien on the cheek.

Damien smiled softly and pressed a kiss to the back of Astrid's hand.

Astrid looked out of the corner of her eye to see Connor and Markus partially making out and Natalie sulking.

"W-What are you looking at?" Damien asked.
