Lilah glanced over at Cameron, her smile falling a bit when she saw the look on his face.
"What's wrong?" she asked softly.

Cameron glanced at her, his droopy eyes sad. "Oh-nothing." He pulled his hand away from his face and put on a pathetic smile.

"It's clearly not nothing… But we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," Lilah said softly.
Liam came back out with a set of pajamas in his arms. "Here," he said, handing them to Lilah.
"Thanks!" she chirped, taking them.
"No problem. Night, sis."
"Good night, Liam," Lilah said as her brother shut his bedroom door.

Cameron stayed silent as the pair had their conversation. She can read my emotions that well already?

"All right," Lilah sighed. "Back to my room."
She started making her way there, expecting Cameron to follow.

Cameron stayed behind for a few moments before tailing her. He kept his gaze down, putting a hand in one of his pockets.

When she arrived at her room, Lilah turned back to see Cameron a few steps behind, still looking upset. She sighed and opened her door, waiting for him.

Cameron glanced up and shimmied into the room. "Thanks." He tried to shake off the negativity but it persisted.

Lilah set his pajamas on her bed before picking her own up off the floor.
"I'm going to change. You can change in here while I change in the bathroom, or vice versa, or we can just change one at a time."

Cameron picked up the clothes off of the bed. "I'll change in here."

"All right. I'll knock when I'm done," Lilah said as she walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind herself.

Cameron changed quickly and folded up the clothes neatly, setting them down on the desk. He sat down on the floor with a gentle sigh.

Lilah finished getting her black-and-white flannel pajamas on, then looked at herself in the mirror for a moment. She sighed at her tired eyes and frowning lips before putting a smile back on her face. She walked to the door and knocked.

Cameron perked up a little, forcing a grin on his face. "I'm okay. You can come back in."

Lilah slipped back into her room and climbed onto her bed. She laid on her stomach across it horizontally so that her head and feet were hanging off the ends.
"You ready for bed?" she asked, her voice strained from her position.

Cameron rose and sat down carefully next to her. "Yep. Bed tiiime." The third word was lengthened out by him stretching.

Lilah sat up on the bed and turned to a normal position. She gave Cameron a small smile before burrowing under her covers.
"Good night," she murmured. She closed her eyes, but she knew it would be a while before she fell asleep with the thoughts that raged through her mind.

He kept his eyes open. He gazed at the wall but didn't see it.

"It's obviously not nothing. And whatever it is is causing something to come between us, and I don't like that," Lilah said softly.

Cameron rolled over onto his back so he could see her better. He sighed gently before answering, "I just don't think I'm making you happy."

"Oh, Cam…" Lilah sighed, closing her eyes. She opened them again to look straight into Cameron's, hoping it would help get her point across. "You have been making me plenty happy. Why would you think you weren't?"
