Lightning squirmed where she was tangled up, her tail poking out from the bundle of sheets.

Charlotte sighed and went to pick the small creature up.
Lightning chittered softly, squirming again.
"Lightning, could you stop?!" She sighed frustratedly.
The little creature froze, eyes going wide.
Charlotte looked down. "Oh, for the love of - what's going on with you?"
She chittered softly, crawling up Charlotte's arm to snuggle contentedly on her shoulder.
Charlotte sighed. "Alright, then," she went to sit on the windowsill.
There was a knock on the door.
Lightning stretched in the light, yawning adorably.
Charlotte sighed. "I literally just sat down," she muttered before calling, "who's there?"
"Hey, Lottie. Time for breakfast." Came Aster's voice.
Charlotte swung off the sill, putting a hand on lightning. She snatched a hair ribbon from her bag and tied it in her hair before leaving the room.
(Using the word snatched in a non-funny way is one of life's simple pleasures)
Aster blinked as she came out, eyes landing on Lightning. "Oh. You found yourself a Glow." He said with a smile. Lightning shifted, still curled up in a ball on her shoulder.

Charlotte looked at her shoulder. "Quinn found her, but she liked me better," she explained.
Aster laughed softly. "I see. She's adorable." He said, smiling at Lightning.
Charlotte grinned. "She is, indeed. Hear that, Lightning? That's the sound of validation."
(I swear like half her lines are inside jokes and I'm sorry)
Aster chuckled. "Alright then. Come on and eat." He replied, starting to walk.

Charlotte's grin disappeared the moment Aster turned around, and she slowly exhaled. She almost tripped down the stairs when she remembered her arm. She tapped her finger rapidly for a moment, looking around. She spotted a napkin and tied it around her arm. Just a fashion statement, she thought with a smile
Aster kept walking. Quinn and the other guards were waiting, and they started downstairs. Lightning shifted, still curled up in a sleeping ball.
Charlotte looked around the area. It really was incredibly boring. No interesting decorations or design choices. It rather reminded her of her aunt's house.
Aster led them into the breakfast area, and started getting food.
Quinn grabbed food.
Charlotte took a small amount of food and found a table, staring at her plate blankly.
Aster sat down with a sigh, and started eating.
Quinn sat down near her, and held out a small piece of fruit. "Might want to feed the fuzzball." He said.
Charlotte took the fruit with a small smile and placed it on her shoulder near Lightning.
Lightning opened her eyes, and sat up, picking up the fruit in her paws and nibbling at it.
Charlotte looked at Lightning with a smile. "You are far too cute," she told the animal.
Quinn chuckled softly at Charlotte and Lightning.
Lightning flicked her furry tail slightly, and kept nibbling at the fruit.
Charlotte looked away from Lightning and bit into a strawberry. Her eyes suddenly lit up, and she pulled off a piece of her other strawberry to give Lightning. "These are the best," she informed her.
Lightning finished the first piece, and grabbed the strawberry piece, nibbling at it hungrily.
"Glow's have a fast metabolism because of all the energy they burn while glowing at night, so make sure you keep her well-fed." Quinn told her.
Charlotte nodded silently and turned to her plate, staring at it for a few moments before deciding she wasn't hungry. She'd probably have dinner, or something.
