“Why not?” He almost whined.

"Reason one, she is injured and you stood there doing nothing about it. Reason two, you were talking about her being your princess like she was an object. Reason three, you sound like a child that isn't allowed to have a toy, when I told you no," Kye snapped but his voice was still calm. "She is not an object and she's very strong, if you want her, start treating her like she's strong and an actually person."
“But she’s a threat to the world! To all the worlds! I was trying to save everyone.”
Koalemos snarled, But disappeared in a flash if pink light.
Hunter was still and quiet. She didn’t seem to be breathing, and only the slow rise and fall of her chest showed that she was alive.
Not risking the possibility of getting followed, Kye relied on his ability to navigate without light. It was getting colder, he was headed downwards. He pulled Hunter closer to his core, trying to let his warmth flow into her. He could only barely feel her breathing. He came to a stop a ways from where they had been, letting Hunter down and checking her wounds.
After a minute, she stated to breathe, but still slow. Her back was mangled and torn, and still bleeding slightly. She looked almost gray from blood loss.
Kye listened closely for a moment to make sure they were alone, before he lit his torch so he could better see what he was doing. Then he began cleaning and bandaging her back. He'd removed her shirt to do a better job bandaging. Once he was finished he pulled his sweatshirt off and put it on her to keep her warm. It was made of a special material specifically for keeping warm in caves. Then he put out his torch and started moving them again, trying to get as much distance between, whoever that person had been, and them, as he could.
Hunter was slowly waking. She felt as though she was in a cloud. Warm, and soft and safe.
Hunter stirred slightly.
Kye noticed her stir but couldn't stop. Whoever, or whatever was following them was getting rapidly closer. A howl rang through the cave and deafond him. Oh no… he knew what it was now. He broke into a full blown sprint, taking corners at random, and trying every trick in the book to try and shake their pursuers.
Hunter feltherself jerked awake. She was being carried-why, oh why, did it have to be him?-by Kye, who was running at top speed.
Suddenly Kye leaped forwards and they seemed suspended in mid air for a moment before it was clear that they were falling. More howling could be heard from all parts of the cave all around them. They hit the ground sliding down a steep slope. Kye jumped off of the slope and landed on a ledge, he stopped there to breath for a moment. His breathing was hard and almost raged sounding.
Hunter tried to sit Ip, but fell back, too weak.
“Sore,” she said. “What is with the howling?”
She groaned. “Of course they did. That means we’re close.”
Hunter snickered. “Don’t you have a weapon or something?”
Kye gave her a look. "No, that is why I had a dagger earlier," he said pulling his dagger out. Another dark shape jumped up clawing at the ledge and pulling them-self up. Kye dragged his dagger along the wall making a god awful sound and sparking his blade. It caught fire and he placed himself in front of the creature.
She smirked, heaving herself up onto her feet. She glanced around the dark cavern, eyes wary. A narrow passage seemed to emerge, and she eyed it.
She pointed to the narrow passage. “Unless you want to jump…”
She grinned. Putting her fingers to her mouth, she whistled piercingly, the sound echoing painfully through the cavern.
