Almira shrugged. Motioning to Hunter, she led her to a corner of the room.
“Does he know?” She asked quietly, gesturing to Hunter’s arm.
Hunter shook her head. “No. Not yet.”

Kye watched the women go to the corner of the room, but decided it wasn't his business. How long do you plan to stay here?
I don't know until the world is safe, again. Why do you care?
Why? Because I live in you, and if you die I die, I don't want that, and somehow I'm guessing that you don't either.
He shook his head and took to listening to the sounds of the cave. The voice in his head was the a spirit that resided in him. The source of his magic barriers.
(Fun!)
“If we are to continue, you have to tell him,” Almira urged.
Hunter scowled.
Order grabbed Hunter’s hand, pulling the sleeve back to reveal a twisting silver snake. It hissed at her, recognizing the aura, and Hunter pulled her shirt sleeve back down just as it darted at Almira. “You see?”
Almira sighed. “Still, after all this time.” She looked sad, and somehow more human.
Hunter felt the snake on her arm grow, and she cursed. “You fool,” she muttered to Almira as the snake started to glow, curling and enlarging itself until it was as wide as Hunter was.
Hunter heard a faint voice, but ignored it. She grabbed the tail of the snake, pulling it away from Order. She screamed something in a harsh language, and the snake froze for an instant. Just enough time for her to reach over and pinch the head. The snake shrank rapaidly, and curled back around Hunter’s arm.
Hunter bit her cheek, clenching her fists to keep from lashing out at Order. “And that was why I didn’t want you to do that.”
Turning, she stormed from the cave.
“She’ll be fine,” Almira said, busying herself cleaning the mess the snake had made. “She’s always has slight anger issues. Nothing some alone time couldn’t cure.”
Almira jerked towards him. “Who?”
Almira scowled. “If it’s who I think it is, then of course he did. Did he say why?”
Order snorted slightly. “He said that, did he?” She smirked slightly. “Don’t believe everything my-I mean, Koalemos says.”
She snorted slightly, waving her hand, making the pieces of brick and stone fly into the corner. “Sounds about right.”
“Good luck,” Order laughed slightly. “You’ll need it.”
Hunter stood on the edge of the cliff, digging her nails into her arm. The one that didn’t have the snake, of course. The pain helped her focus, helped her think, helped her fight back the anger that threatened to overwhelm her.
Hunter bit the side of her cheek and nodded, not speaking. She stared out at the dark place, not really seeing anything.
“Fine,” she managed to get out.
I’m angry at that pathetic woman for not listening to me when clearly I knew what I was doing. I’m mad at my cousin for kidnapping me. And I’m absolutely furious that I have to be stuck here, stuck in this place, this hellhole, and I have to help people, when that’s clearly not me. And I wish that I could see the damn sun again, she thought.
Hunter reached out to grab his arm. “Careful!”
Hunter bit her lip to keep back a scream. She couldn’t show weakness. Not in front of him.
She had started to rethink letting him be near her. She had no idea what he was doing, and was worried that the fall had knocked something loose in him.
Kye pulled her near him and they came to a smooth sliding stop off a slope. Then he let her go, taking a step back knowing she wouldn't want him holding on to her. He had his torch lit so they could see, then he motioned for her to follow. Something in his eyes sparkled, like he knew something she didn't and he couldn't wait to tell her.
