"That's the idea. But I'll have to pick carefully. I can't just call up any soul from the Spirit Realm. I have to have some physical connection, like a locket or a book. Plus, approval from the four gods of death… It's quite a process, and they make sure it takes a toll," Aurelius explained, "Dammit, why didn't I think of this earlier, while we were still at the scene? I could've found jewelry or other things to help me with this. I'm hoping we can find some common thread."

"I know there'll be others…" he whispered, "But the sooner we figure this out, the better. Plus, it'll help if we find out how they got opportunities, and if they had traitors within… I don't want a thousand more people to have to die before we can do something."

"I can ask Pollux if he might have anything that used to belong to someone he knows… And if anyone else from our village already has something, that would be best. The things is, spirits move on. Sometimes they move on quickly…" Aurelius explained.

"Moving on… As in inhabiting new bodies," Aurelius said, "Once a spirit is judged, they go to the next life. I'm not sure whether it's on this plane or another, but that hardly matters at the moment. I'm sure the gods have their hands full with all that just happened. We probably have a week or so before the last of them go."

"I agree entirely. I guess I'll have to um… explain this whole thing to everyone… Not everyone takes kindly to messing with the dead. Sometimes they lump it under necromancy, which is the truly vile art… At least I commune with the gods, and they allow communication with the dead," Aurelius said. "Hey, Nox. We might land soon so I can do this thing…"
Okay. Just let me know. I'll keep an eye out for potential danger in the meantime.

"Yeah, what I do isn't problematic. A little scary from the outside, but in order. It's just the rumors were that I was reanimating corpses and such, which is unacceptable. Not only is it unacceptable, but where did they think I was finding corpses? You don't exactly just have those lying around…" Aurelius couldn't help but laugh a little at the thought, however terrible.

"I um… I tried to talk to my parents… That's why I took it up in the first place, and I think people started misinterpreting it as me trying to bring them back or something, which I get, but… I don't know, those are big accusations to throw. So, shall we?" Aurelius asked, letting Nox dip down a little more towards the treetops.

Aurelius smiled. "Good to know."
Nox started to dip a little lower, and she landed at the edge of a field with tall grass. Aurelius started looking through his bag for something- anything that might allow him communication.

"It's a bit of a stretch, but I could always try the blacksmiths… some say you pour your heart and soul into the forge. If we have nothing better, I can try that," Aurelius said, "My weapons are made by different people, all of whom probably died in the attack."

(Lol. It happens sometimes.)

(Yeah, I figured he'd have something of his parents', which is kind of why I thought it might be a good way to go about this.)

(I might quit for the night, actually. It's getting late here.)

Pollux awoke and asked what was going on, and why they had stopped. Aurelius gave him a quick explanation and he began going through his bag.
“I’ve got a book from the chief medic… that’s about all. I think you should keep looking.”
