Dragon Rider RP (Open, please ask to join)

((OOC: @Meow, if it helps, you can have your charrie hear the horn sounded by the raiders and run to warn the rest of those by the Village Elders. That or have them see the charging enemies. However, it is entirely up to you on how you want your charrie to respond))

Aurelius saw Charlie come out of the hall and glanced at him, still angry about his own meeting, but bound and determined not to show it.
"So, I'm sure they were happy to see you back?" Aurelius asked, "I know I sure was glad to see you had returned."

"Yeah, actually," Aurelius answered, "We're in trouble. Our village, that is. You see, Nox had this dream, and obviously it has to mean something. Everything here was destroyed. The elders don't want to listen to me, though. I'm not sure why."
(Ahhh I just realized Dragoncita initiated an attack on the village. I do not pay attention to things sometimes. Maybe there's a little lag time in when they notice the impending attack?)

(Yeah, you didn't miss a whole lot. Just basically that the village is supposed to be attacked, and just about everyone dies, and now everyone is getting signs of it, that sort of thing.)

((OOC: Now worries, I can figure something out to work with it))

(Yeah, I think it's about time to get into the attack, though. Just kind of waiting for other people, I guess? And I imagine the place where the elders are is in the middle of the village, so they'd be the last to know anyway.)

((OOC: So, shall I continue with the attack, only I'll let them focus on the outer edges, moving inwards?))

Nox shrieked and walked over to Jekyll, starting to communicate with him. Aurelius asked her what was wrong, but got no response.
"Charlie, something's up. They both sense it."

The figure continued to slowly ride forward as his men started the onslaught. His hidden gaze watched as villagers scattered. He could hear the screams of women and children as houses were suddenly raided. Doors splintered as the invaders forced their way inside. Smoke started to rise as flames licked along the sides of buildings. Village men stepped forward to try and fend back the raiders, but they could do little against the men who were skilled and trained for battle.
Not to say the few villagers who made an attempt to stave off the attack didn't fail. They were managing to stall the intruders, if only barely. They were swiftly losing ground, and they knew it.
The leader's hidden gaze moved, hearing the sound of wings. Sure enough, one of the dragon riders had finally appeared. A smirk crossed his face. The rider was on the young side, as well as the dragon. He watched in silence as the dragon suddenly lunged towards him, claws outstretched and fangs bared. The armored male somehow lifted himself upwards, launching himself off of his mount's back. His hand wrapped around the handle of his lance. With a well placed movement, he swung downwards, his weapon piercing through scales between the dragon's horns and straight through the skull. A spray of dark blood spurted forth, covering the male in dark red blood.
He lifted his head, looking straight at the rider who's shock and fear was clear on his face. The armored male gave a deranged grin, "Deary me, my hand slipped. Sorry about that."
The young rider released a yell, leaping forward. Once again, it was clear this one had little to no battle experience. The man easily side-stepped, watching as the young man tumbled off of his now dead dragon and into the ground. As for the other, he pulled his lance from the dragon's skull, hopping off of the beast, and making his way to the downed rider. The insane grin remained on his face, the blood that covered him giving him an even more frightening appearance. The other desperately tried to crawl away, to flee from the dark individual.
A sudden roar made the blood-soaked figure pause however. A giant shadow swooped low over head, a figure falling from the beast…
"Eliam Dragonblade, should've known you'd come here sooner or later."
The armored male gave an even wider grin, "Cain Valerius, the Broken Lord, and a multitude of other names you go by. You've managed to gain yourself quite the reputation. Surprised your own nature hasn't razed this village to the ground yet."
The two men stood, glaring at the other. The tension was almost suffocating between the pair. It would only be moments before a small spark would ignite a full-on fight between the pair.

(Ahhhhh that's so good.)

(Yes, I can't wait. I'm always down for a good fight scene.)
Aurelius thought he heard a scream, and his whole body stiffened. His heart rate shot up. Something was certainly wrong. He walked closer to Nox.
"Nox, I sense it too."
She refused to reply, and in her anger spewed forth a little blue flame.

Aurelius swung himself onto Nox's back and told her to fly upwards so he could see what was happening. The enemies were quickly closing in on the town. The stables were destroyed already, and many, many buildings on the streets were burning or piles of rubble. The market was mostly empty, save the occasional person running for their life or corpse on the ground. Aurelius let Nox touch back down.
"Charlie, I don't think there's time. The elders won't be able to escape without their dragons, and the stable is gone," Aurelius warned, "We need to escape with our lives."

Some hidden movement or action was all that was needed. The two men suddenly lunged at one another. The sound of metal scraping against it sheathe sounded, a glimmer of a blade swinging forward. Lance and sword met in a shower of sparks. Cain had finally drawn his blade.
Both men stood, pushing and shoving against the other, sparks continuing to fall. Cain's amber eyes swirled, changing to bright yellow, the familiar yellow of his dragon. His pupils narrowed into thin slits, glaring forward at Eliam who's own gaze remained hidden under his helmet. Yet, the other still held onto his insane grin.
"Drawing your weapon already old boy? And here I thought you put that past behind you."
Eliam suddenly side-stepped, causing Cain to stumble forward as he had been still pushing against the other. Quickly following, the armored male thrust his blade towards Cain. Feeling the weapon coming behind him, Cain allowed his body to fall completely to the ground, the lance missing his back by mere inches. With a quick roll, the male was out of the way and back on his feet, sword in hand. Flames started to dance along the edges of the blade. Cain's lips parted, a black cloud of smoke escaping in a silent exhale.
The armored male followed up with a series of swift jabs. His movements a blur, the single blade seemingly turning into several more, a trick of the eye, since it could not keep up with such swift attacks. Yet, despite the speed, Cain appeared to be dodging the onslaught, only slipping once or twice. As result, his traveling cloak was torn in several places now.
Cain continued to back up, before suddenly stopping. He slammed his blade into the ground. The male released an inhuman growl. Flames suddenly exploded around his body in a fiery ring. Eliam felt himself thrown backwards, but gracefully landed on his feet in a crouched position, one hand set on the ground. The armored male seemingly gave a chuckle.
"Huh, been awhile since I've seen that move. Curious if you still have the rest of your old moves. Better be careful, might end up doing more damage to this place than my men."
The dark haired male was off in an instant. Both hands gripped the handle of his sword, flames once again dancing along the edges of the blade. Eliam waited patiently, and with a swift leap he was out of the way as Cain's sword swung, a wave of flames bursting forth, engulfing the area in flames.

Aurelius and Nox lifted back up into the air. He pointed towards the river side of the valley.
"That way?" he asked, "It looks fairly clear compared to everything else."

Aurelius cast a glance back over his shoulder to see two other dragon riders following, but he did not recognize them. He did not hesitate to draw his sword and prepare to fight.
"Keep going, girl. I'll make sure they don't hurt you."
His gaze was trained on the two men in pursuit, and he felt incredibly worried. Nox and Jekyll were fast, but if the enemy were to catch up, they would both be overpowered by the enemies' brute force.

"I'm going as fast as I can," Nox told Aurelius. She spread her wings farther and did her best to pick up speed, but there wasn't a whole lot she could do.
Aurelius dug his feet into her side, trying to maintain his grip on the black dragon. However, he began falling well behind Charlie and Jekyll, and the two enemies drew closer. Aurelius pulled his sword out all the way, and asked Nox to be mindful of his position; he was sitting on her back with little grip, holding a weapon.
"My dear, I cannot promise anything, but I will try to protect you."
Then, the riders drew dangerously close. Aurelius's heart was pounding as he realized that he was being chased so closely.
